2 miles in a  Bugatti Veyron going 250 mph? That is like a 30 second ride. Thanks, I'll pass and keep my $1000.

Yeaahhh I'll just ask my friend's daughters to teach me how to double dutch when I babysit next weekend. Like hell I'm spending $1k on that. I can take them out to eat afterwards and still save $950.

seriously.... $1,000 would feed our family for 2 months, or pay our utilities for 3 months. May not be a splurge on a brief fleeting moment, but is a better use of $1,000.

I would rather buy 5 ounces of weed.

Take your 1000 and buy a high dollar hooker, or 50 cheap $20 whores. Either way you'll get screwed and loose your money in the same way this article suggests!

I don't have a $1000 burning a hole in my pocket, but I am saving money for a splurge...cooking classes in Tuscany. It's something I've wanted to do for years but couldn't afford the trip. This Italian girl is finally going to Italy!

If I could get 200 of these people to just send me that $1,000 that is 'disposable', I could make my life easier and they would never miss it!

Just go to a charity auction, get a little tipsy, and pay $1000 or more for something you don't need or never will use. Same outcome, but at least the money goes to a charity...

There are so many more exciting things to do with a kilobuck than they suggest. They leave out travel expense, hence so shall I. How about two weeks with you and a guide in a "log boat" in the Okavango swamp in Botswana, cross the Sahara, pilot a glider, do a balloon ride across the Serengeti, do the Amazon rain forest in Peru, swim with the critters almost anywhere in the Galapagos, Australia, wherever, learn something that does It for you (the comment on Italian cooking is great), visit the land of your heritage and search your own history. Ride in a car for a minute, what a rip off, jump out of a plane, you'll go almost as fast and you do the driving.

Paying $1000 for two hours of flight with a $9000 water jet pack is like paying $1k to rent a $9k car for two hours.

I will be blowing a 1000.00 in about 5 hours when the new PS4's go on sale at midnight and that will give me a lot more entertainment than going 2 miles in a sports car. My PS3 has entertained me for the last 3 years and I will still play games on it along with the new PS4 so to me that is a much better entertainment investment. It may not be a once in a lifetime experience but I think I can live with that, at least I have something to show for my 1000.00 investment.
