I used to work in agriculture in South Dakota and for my work spent considerable time in the Southwest. The mindset is 180 degrees different. My boss was worth about $30 million lived in a $750,000 house no debt and $10 million cash. The people we did business with would have no cash, huge debt, $3 million house, made fun of us South Dakotans and were begging for our money. I met with farm managers that drove a nicer vehicle and lived in as nice of a house as my employer who had the means to buy them and their employer out. Some people make a dollar and save 20 cents, some make a dollar and spend a buck fifty.

Looks to me that most of the good states are states that vote for the conserative party while most of the bad are states that vote for the liberal party.

Perhaps some of the states that are good yet have a low credit scrore are states where people live within their means and do not charge everything.

Get out of debt.  Stay out of debt.  You will be much happier.

The oil in the Dekota's and the spirit of America lives there.( unlike in the Gimme parts of this country) After the debate last night some of us recognize Mitt is correct...$1.85 per Gal  to $4.00 is crazy.  Let's not make the same mistake this time .....Drill, Baby, Drill .....Pipe line....build new refineries......sure we should do some alternative energy sources ....Like nuclear, wind.....Oh we haven't built a Nuclear plant in 20 years , or a new refinery. No wonder gas cost $4.00 per gal. Time to stop fooling around and get in the game.
Let's stop whyning and  grow up.

The lowest populated states are the ones on this list. Fewer people fewer problems.

So if I understand this correctly, In general...

Northern states pay their bills and nearly everyone has jobs.

Southern states have higher unemployment and greater debt.

Interesting...

The states that score best are the states that are more conservative and have the highest percentage of working people in comparison to freeloaders. Number one is because of oil drilling creating jobs not because of government programs. Lets get our economy going again. Vote Obama out!!!

WHAT I GOT OUT OF THE DEBATE WAS WORDS WHAT GOOD ARE WORDS IF THEY ARE NOT FOLLOWED UP ON WE DON'T NEED WORDS WE NEED ACTION . CUT THIS OR THAT PROGRAM IS NOT THE WAY .FUNDING IT IN THE FIRST PLACE IS THE QUESTION .GAS PRICES WHAT IS WITH THAT ? EVERY TIME IT STARTS TO GO DOWN A REFINERY GOES DOWN . WE ARE SENDING OUR TROOPS TO COUNTRIES THAT STICK IT TO US FOR A BARREL OF OIL .WHAT IS WITH THAT? THEY SAY THEY HAVE TO UP THE MPG OF VEHICLES THEM WHEN THEY DO AND PEOPLE USE LESS THEY SAY THEY HAVE TO RAISE THE PRICE BECAUSE THEY HAVE THERE PROFITS GOING DOWN .POWER COMPANIES SAID THE OTHER DAY THAT THEY WERE GOING TO RAISE THE RATES BECAUSE THE USE HAS GONE DOWN AND THERE PROFITS WERE DOWN SO WHEN PEOPLE TRY TO HOLD DOWN USE THEY GET A RATE HIKE .THERE IS NO WAY TO WIN UNTIL SOMEONE DECIDES ENOUGH IS ENOUGH .ALL WE ARE GETTING IS WORDS NO ACTION . AND THAT COVERS ALL ASPECTS OF EVERYDAY LIFE .WHEN DO THE PEOPLE GET A BREAK ?

It looks like the states with the highest percentage of Obamaphones have the worst credit.  Multi-generational welfare dependency engenders economic irresponsibility.

It seems that most of the people think that this is all about the rich & poor. What would happen if the people in Congress could agree on the things of importance, like removing the troups from the countries which have always hated us, (WILL NOT CHANGE) because of the special interest groups  who have a big stake in what they can remove from those places (LIKE OIL). We could feed all of our people and provide housing by just doing away with the programs that help to protect and keep the governments in place that say they will help the US. Get rid of all the special deals that are made in order to keep the chosen ones in Congress. SPECIAL INTERESTS dictate the way the country goes and this will not change.  GOD BLESSS AMERICA.

Looks like the states with hardly anyone living there seem to have the best stats... duh!

You allow the rich crooks and the government crooks to bring in all of these ILLEGAL ALIENS, and let them just waltz into this country unchecked and overpopulate the more thriving states and take over our neighborHOODS and steal all of the jobs that didn't get outsourced or shut down because of it, then cause a big wage depression while using up every available tax payer resource available in the form of welfare and healthcare, give them loans and 0 down mortages causing most of the financial collapses and foreclosures, allow them to operate construction and other companies without insurance or licenses and drive legitimate contractors out of business who played by the rules,

and then wonder what hell the problem is????

It's like being duped by 2 of the biggest and best organized crime syndicates ever created...The Government... and... The Rich...

who make us pay them protection money in the form of high taxes and high prices...or else!!!

Dumbocrats or RepubliCONS....what does it even matter if one party doesn't rule the congress and the white house at the same time?

Bend over and take it like a Patriot

ewent ...... Move to europe.  WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING TO COME FROM WHEN THAT IS GONE.  We live in a society that the libs are trying to turn socialist.  Look at the taxes started and repeatedly raised by the libs.  You pay them every month for your cable, phone, energy bills etc.  France is now going to tax their rich at 75%.  Over the past 60 years europe has continued to raise taxes and watched their economies shrink along with it.  Their wellfare and unemployment skyrocket.  Many of these counties economies are smaller then most of our states.

The libs wanted a food tax on unhealthy foods.  A carbon tax.  They are even looking to enforce the GPS black boxes in your cars so they can tax you by the miles you drive.  If you drive more then others you already buy more fuel and pay more taxes then someone who drives less.  Oh, there is another hidden tax.

And now Obama care,  that comes with a new tax to real estate not to mention the penalties' and so on.

So keep buying into their shell game.  True story.....a man owns franchise restaurants all over the country.  His business profited 35 mil last year.  The taxes he paid were small.  Not because of loop holes!  He opened 10 new franchises at more then 2 mil a piece and almost 1000 new jobs.  Yea lets limit his deductions so he can pay more taxes and create fewer jobs.  So for every $1 of his taxes that go to lets say food stamps only .25 cents will buy food.

Now some say the most wasteful government dept. the IRS will regulate and budget our health care.

This is the reason the libs have only had one two term pres. since FDR.  Clinton,  who was a great  legislator.  After his second year, with an approval rating falling below 40%  he dumped the left libs and worked with his new conservative congress to get things done.  Keep in mind his high taxes on everyone had us going into a recession.

So keep talking your crap.  O HAS TO GO !!!!!  And if the conservatives screw up we can vote them out,  until we find another Reagan or Clinton.

What else do these states have in common?

Low population.

Overpopulation, 7 billion and counting, is the root cause of virtually every problem we face. Higher populations lead to higher crime (including illegal immigration, a crime), more poverty, more demand on dwindling resources, etc.

It's not rocket science. It's simple math and a very rudimentary understanding of socioeconomics.

What about all the other states?  You give no credit to NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, VA, for example?  Then Texas, Lousisana, Kentucky. West Virgiina, Washington (state), Oregon?  Where do the places most people live fall into?  The ones who pay their bills and are both parties.  I found no value in your article unless you provide more researh.
