All over the state of California elitists, cities, counties, the state and slum lords are feeding off the carcasses of the poor, the chronically un-employed,  the under-educated and the illegal. As far as I have been able to observe over the years, that's what it looks like to me.

There is really no reason for this situation to exist. However, one should understand only government creates poverty and only government can prevent it. The situation is really terrible when one considers many people in the state have no basis for a life.

Its big business to rip off renters in California and its fully endorsed by the government and the courts.Could be why people are moving out in droves. The newest wrinkle which is really a stupid waste of time and a hassle, you have to provide your own refrigerator. The whole idea of making homes unaffordable and rents too high fits so well into the Republican plan of do nothing but live off your wealth. Homes that were built for around ten thousand dollars in the 1950s with little  to no improvement are now worth 250,000 to 500,000 dollars is a bloody joke.Like New York City , LA is going to be too expensive and too much of a hassle to live in. then after the big Earthquake California is going to be New Orleans and Katrina all over again times  a hundred.
