I went to a store today and looked at a fishing rod that had a tag on it stating "The Best Fishing pole in the US" The label on the handle stated "Made in China".

Subway is the only one I ever go to. Walgreens has way to much markup and Wal-Mart  is a store you can't get out of because there's only about two registers open . No way will I ever pay Starbucks 6.00 for a cup of Coffee !

Wal-Mart is #1 at what cost??

According to a report within the next few months China will become the global economic leader taking away the #1 spot from the United States who has held that spot since 1887.

So Americans lose jobs and companies to the cheap labor cost of China and the result is poor quality products that rarely last more than a few years at best.

So to those that support the corporate and economic terrorism that is wal-mart, when people continue to lose jobs and the economy collapses (and yes it is going to happen) you can give yourselves a well earned pat on the back for doing your part in destroying America!

Wow, the 1st and 5th paragraphs tell you everything about modern America that one could possibly need to know.

- The behavior of Americans is monitored daily

- American love fast-food, discount retail and pharmacy segments.

- People making higher incomes are living more frugally

- People making lower incomes cook less

The vast majority of problems facing Americans, including obesity, poor health, jobs, the unspoken epidemic of prescription drug dependency, and to a certain extent the gap between rich and poor can traced back to consumer habits.

Everybody is blaming someone else but it really comes down to choice. This same attribute that makes America so great is also leading to its demise.

Hmmm, of the 5, I only go to Wal-Mart and mostly for the prescription drugs, however they are changing their generic price list and I will most likely purchase more through the mail from my insurance company.

My top 5

Amazon

Costco

Trader Joe's

5 Guys

Wegman's

Isn't it odd that msn seems to only link fluff articles like this one to comment forums?  It no longer seems to link articles of substance - political articles.. matters of national importance - to comment forums.

I just thought it was interesting.

Subway is terrible.....chemicals in the bread (now being phased out), a small amount of slimy looking meat and tuna salad that is 90% more mayonnaise than tuna.  I haven't set foot in a Subway in years!

these stores that are popular are frequented by the poor "middle class" Americans , who are trying to make their money stretch a little more , as for Starbucks , only fools would pay that much for a cup of coffee .

I think the top five are CVS, Walgreen's, Rite Aide, and two more drug dealers.  Their parking lots are full year round.  If Ameica is as sick as "ask your doctor" ads would indicate, Russia doesn't need to worry about the US anyway.  In a few more years we will all be dead.

Secondly - I have not set foot in a Wal Mart in nearly 10 years.  I find it a completely out of touch and disgusting place to do business.

See the documentary:  "Wal Mart - The high cost of low prices"   That'll wake ya up.

They couldn't find a better photo for Starbucks? What's up with the NAR face? I guess it sums up your visit quite nicely, though.
"Come to Starbucks. We know our coffee isn't the best and the prices are ridiculous. We also know you're mentally deficient enough not to care. Oh yeah, we have just enough wi-fi to show you have a signal, but not enough bandwidth to accommodate everyone that will be on it. If you're not satisfied, not to worry. You can go across the street and be sad at our next location."
