VIDEO ON MSN MONEY
the problem, as i see it, is that an 'average' person has no way to be elected to any office that could make a difference. there is too much money involved in running a campaign, travel requirements that would cost the average person to lose their job, too much tacking on pork projects to bills that would make a difference, too many lobbyists(one is too many) and a total lack of true communication regarding anything before congress.
the tax code in this country is so complex that you have to be a philadelphia lawyer to figure it out. the only way i can see a FAIR tax code is to whittle it down to one page...flat 10%(as a reference point) of income with no deductions, no exemptions and no subsidies. all of which should be applied to individuals and corporations equally. if a corporation moves its jobs overseas to avoid taxes there should be a stout import tariff on their products.
i would be happy to file a one page tax return and pay a flat 10% of my income.
this would also save money by reducing the number of irs employees, tax lawyers and tax accountants.
i know this is a pipe dream with absolutely no chance of ever happening but thats what dreams are for.
To list what is wrong with congress can go on and on. There should be term limits. Most politicians have no idea what work really is in the first place. They sit around and bicker like little kids, but get
paid highly for being ignorate. Put a salary cap on them along with the term limits, and also they should
also be paid for there performance. I would like to see them live like most "Hard Working Americans".
Long hours, low wages, living paycheck to paycheck while others don't have to do crap to survive. Stop
giving everything to those that don't work, "The Free Stuff Army" that our goverment created. Our goverment needs a total overhaul beginning with the flushing of Congress and all the spooonfed, no
clue politians sitting in their thrones. I also would like to find out more about where they came up with
the "New Middle Class", the $250,000.00 bracket that most don't fall in. Our goverment has no clue
what it is like to really work for a living. I challenge them to live most "Sub-Middle Class" or as I call
it "The New Poor Class"
Why is it that we only vote them into office but don't have any say in their pay, benefits, the cost of living as well as retirement. If we decide by voting who gets into office we should also have a say in how much they are paid and what kind of benefits they get. Did you know that they only have to serve one term and they are set for life with retirement pay and health care. In this economic times I think they should suspend the cost of living increase, take a huge pay cut, pay for their healthcare and not receive a retirement plan after one term. They should have to complete 20 years of service like the military does to receive a retirement but even the military retirement is a far cry from what Congress receives. We the people vote them in and we the people should have the final say in their pay, benefits and retirement.
The real fix to all the problems of Congress are jobs. Yep it they just got the unemployment down to a real 4% or less the government would have loads of money for them to fight over. But does anyone really know what the real unemployment number is?
The little lie Congress and The WhiteHouse don't want to talk about is simple the false number of jobs that they say are available, I am sure you have all heard the quotes from politicians that "there are hundreds of thousands of jobs available for qualified people" well lets look the the country's biggest employer the governments-- local, state, and federal. The truth is they list over two million jobs that they say are available and that keep the employment numbers from sky rocketing. The problem they have no money to fill the positions. If you take away available jobs that can not be funded then the real unemployment number is more like 17.7% not including all those numbers of people who just seem to fade away from the employment numbers as needed. Not the 8% we voted for from either party.
The so-called "obstruction" by the GOP may be the only thing saving the middle class from Obama and the democrats.
Barack Obama is a community organizer. He knows how to grow division and class warfare. He knows nothing of growing economies. Left alone in control, democrats created policies that were not only not helpful to the economy and the middle class, they are harmful.
what's wrong with Congress is the same virus that makes Romney and Ryan very sick, they are both REPUBLICANS.
| The big news today Oct 13, 2012, is that another Company in Illinois making sensors (SENSATA), for automobiles was closed a week ago, all personnel terminated ( FIRED), with no job because the Company presently owned by Bain Corporation decided to make a larger profit by outsourcing the Company! All equipment and assembly of sensors work is now quickly outsourced to China! This is the sickness that has been killing us, our economy, and our working force for the last fourteen years , as you know it all began with Bush, Mitt Romney and the Bain Corporation, and many other Large Corporations in the USA. We better stop outsourcing our work to other countries now or we will die as a powerful country! I can't believe we still have the courage to blame Obama for the problems of lack of jobs in our USA for the last four years. Just give the citizens a brake, and stop making more lies of why the economy does not make good progress, to include the perversity of Congress a snake nest of Tea Party, and Republican members opposing every Jobs Bills that Obama proposes. You need to know that from 2000 to 2008,the Bush years, 8.3 million service, and assembly jobs have been outsource to China, India, and Mexico! Mitt, you are a lost cause; you change your mind every time you get out of bed. You are very dangerous to the American people because we do not know for sure what you are going to do if accidentally you become president, with your liar side kick Ryan, you will take many position dealing in foreign policy, and will prove to be a killer for us, like Iraq and Afghanistan nightmare. Citizens wake up, vote for Obama president on November 6, 2012 or earlier! |

[BRIEFING.COM] The Russell 2000 crosssed the 1,000 level for the first time ever today and the S&P 500 established a new all-time, intraday high. Those were some of the more memorable highlights of what was an otherwise nondescript day of trading.
By and large, there just wasn't a lot of conviction on the part of either buyers or sellers. The major indices spent time on either side of the unchanged line, but never put a whole lot of distance between themselves and ... More
