They are there for their interest. How much can I get from special interest, lawyers, and insurance companies that really are supporting the greatest ponzi scheme off all times called the Unites States of America. We will control the sheeple, phuck them out of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as long as we get ours. It is not about  the citizens any more. It is about feeding you bulls**t, while we dictate every aspect of your life. As long as the select few keep control, you azzholes (citizens) can go piss up a rope. Are you phuck heads getting the picture yet, or should I break out the crayons and use smaller words?

the problem, as i see it, is that an 'average' person has no way to be elected to any office that could make a difference. there is too much money involved in running a campaign, travel requirements that would cost the average person to lose their job, too much tacking on pork projects to bills that would make a difference, too many lobbyists(one is too many) and a total lack of true communication regarding anything before congress.

the tax code in this country is so complex that you have to be a philadelphia lawyer to figure it out. the only way i can see a FAIR tax code is to whittle it down to one page...flat 10%(as a reference point) of income with no deductions, no exemptions and no subsidies. all of which should be applied to individuals and corporations equally. if a corporation moves its jobs overseas to avoid taxes there should be a stout import tariff on their products.

i would be happy to file a one page tax return and pay a flat 10% of my income.

this would also save money by reducing the number of irs employees, tax lawyers and tax accountants.

i know this is a pipe dream with absolutely no chance of ever happening but thats what dreams are for.

To list what is wrong with congress can go on and on. There should be term limits. Most politicians have no idea what work really is in the first place. They sit around and bicker like little kids, but get

paid highly for being ignorate. Put a salary cap on them along with the term limits, and also they should

also be paid for there performance. I would like to see them live like most "Hard Working Americans".

Long hours, low wages, living paycheck to paycheck while others don't have to do crap to survive. Stop

giving everything to those that don't work, "The Free Stuff Army" that our goverment created. Our goverment needs a total overhaul beginning with the flushing of Congress and all the spooonfed, no

clue politians sitting in their thrones.  I also would like to find out more about where they came up with

the "New Middle Class", the $250,000.00 bracket that most don't fall in. Our goverment has no clue

what it is like to really work for a living. I challenge them to live most "Sub-Middle Class" or as I call

it "The New Poor Class"

Why is it that we only vote them into office but don't have any say in their pay, benefits, the cost of living as well as retirement. If we decide by voting who gets into office we should also have a say in how much they are paid and what kind of benefits they get. Did you know that they only have to serve one term and they are set for life with retirement pay and health care.  In this economic times I think they should suspend the cost of living increase, take a huge pay cut, pay for their healthcare and not receive a retirement plan after one term.  They should have to complete 20 years of service like the military does to receive a retirement but even the military retirement is a far cry from what Congress receives.  We the people vote them in and we the people should have the final say in their pay, benefits and retirement.

I agree with some of this article but please explain something to me. How is free parking at the airport and their work an issue? Tell me how Congress would be improved if you took away their free parking. Will they all of a sudden do their job better because they have to pay to park? This article is titled "11 Things Wrong with Congress" and I fail to see any correlation between the performance of Congress and their ability to park for free. This person either needs to justify that statement or learn a lesson about causation and correlation.

I love how the majority of bad things about Congress displayed Republicans . Way to go msnbc. One of the biggest things wrong with Congress is no term limits. This has created an entrenched aristocracy with little or no connection to the electorate who placed them there.

The real fix to all the problems of Congress are jobs. Yep it they just got the unemployment down to a real 4% or less the government would have loads of money for them to fight over. But does anyone really know what the real unemployment number is?

The little lie Congress and The WhiteHouse don't want to talk about is simple the false number of jobs that they say are available, I am sure you have all heard the quotes from politicians that "there are hundreds of thousands of jobs available for qualified people" well lets look the the country's biggest employer the governments-- local, state, and federal.  The truth is they list over two million jobs that they say are available and that keep the employment numbers from sky rocketing. The problem they have no money to fill the positions. If you take away available jobs that can not be funded then the real unemployment number is more like 17.7% not including all those numbers of people who just seem to fade away from the employment numbers as needed. Not the 8% we voted for from either party.

Only 11 problems?? I bet we can think of a few more than that?? All of you out there, let's start with the letter "a" and work our way through the alphabet. We'll use both sides of the paper too.  I'll start --- arrogance, "all-about-me attitude", ---

When was the last time citizens mounted a recall campaign to show their displeasure over a Congressman?

The so-called "obstruction" by the GOP may be the only thing saving the middle class from Obama and the democrats.

Barack Obama is a community organizer. He knows how to grow division and class warfare. He knows nothing of growing economies. Left alone in control, democrats created policies that were not only not helpful to the economy and the middle class, they are harmful.

what's wrong with Congress is the same virus that makes Romney and Ryan very sick, they are both REPUBLICANS.

The big news today Oct 13, 2012, is that another Company in Illinois making sensors (SENSATA), for automobiles was closed a week ago, all personnel terminated ( FIRED), with no job because the Company presently owned by Bain Corporation decided to make a larger profit by outsourcing the Company! All equipment and assembly of sensors work is now quickly outsourced to China! This is the sickness that has been killing us, our economy, and our working force for the last fourteen years , as you know it all began with Bush, Mitt Romney and the Bain Corporation, and many other Large Corporations in the USA. We better stop outsourcing our work to other countries now or we will die as a powerful country! I can't believe we still have the courage to blame Obama for the problems of lack of jobs in our USA for the last four years. Just give the citizens a brake, and stop making more lies of why the economy does not make good progress, to include the perversity of Congress a snake nest of Tea Party, and Republican members opposing every Jobs Bills that Obama proposes.
You need to know that from 2000 to 2008,the Bush years, 8.3 million service, and assembly jobs have been outsource to China, India, and Mexico! Mitt, you are a lost cause; you change your mind every time you get out of bed. You are very dangerous to the American people because we do not know for sure what you are going to do if accidentally you become president, with your liar side kick Ryan, you will take many position dealing in foreign policy, and will prove to be a killer for us, like Iraq and Afghanistan nightmare. Citizens wake up, vote for Obama president on November 6, 2012 or earlier!

It's simple....those in office are consumed by greed. They really are not much more than pathetic parasites who only take care of themselves.

What's needed is a govt. in which people are elected for one term only and it is illegal to take money from anyone public or private. I know this will not be popular but what should pay for their campaigns is money from taxes not money from individuals. What we now have is a govt. that is bought off by people with money. If our elected officials want to get re-elected, they are beholden to those who with the money supply. What kind of govt. is this?

They just want to get elected once so they can take care of themselves. They get raises, health benefits not available to us,retirement .  What more could they want?  They just sit up there and

play.

The fan page is chalked full of articles and news covering entertainment.  Some ads even post free yet there is a $4.00 charge.  MSN is one of the best desktop servers, rides besides CNN.  Is our nation coming to the place in time when an "about face" is due to clean up our internet, our streets, even our news?  I sure hope so. Thank you.

Our political system needs to be overhauled and overhauled immediately. We need to do away with the 2 party system and actually produce candidates that are capable of serving the people. Senate and Congress was not designed to make our representatives rich, yet our representatives have turned these positions into money making "cushy" roles. Lobbyists, PACS, Electoral Colleges, the whole gammit needs to be abolished and let people actually vote for candidates that do not have to be affiliated with democratic or republican conventions. Our public servants need to exist on what they have given the American people to exist on. Let them have to do with Social Security and Medicare and by God, we'd have a good system.

The House and Senate need to have their terms cut to one four year term with each state alternating to yield four groups coming and going from service. Pay should be cut to reasonable levels and cut the large pensions. Let's run our government more like a business SERVICE rather than a take as much as you can get buffet. Immigration is a law and our representatives don't want to have it enforced. Is that kind of strange to anyone but myself? America Let's clean house.

[BRIEFING.COM] The stock market finished the Wednesday session on a modestly lower note, but it is worth mentioning today's retreat took place after six consecutive gains. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (-0.1%) and S&P 500 (-0.2%) settled not far below their flat lines, while the Nasdaq Composite (-0.8%) lagged throughout the session.

Equity indices started the day in the red, with the Nasdaq showing early weakness as large cap tech names and biotechnology weighed. The technology ... More
