America's worst fast-food restaurants

Well-known chains including McDonald's, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut got lousy reviews in a recent Consumer Reports survey. But which eatery was deemed worst of all?

So basically everything you find in the food court at the mall is awful.

Thanks for clearing that up MSN.

How many times can MSN run the same story?

The taste of food is personal as well as restaurants.  What one person likes another one might think it is the worst.  I don't put much faith in surveys like this.  Also, these are chain restaurants, and the food can vary from one to another.  My experience is that those chain restaurants that are corporate stores are not as well run as those that are privately owned.

I worked as a waiter @ Pizza Hut - Charlotte, NC for three years in the 1990's,,, not one of my proudest restaurant experiences, far from the worst. It sometimes is the customer's expectations from fast-food businesses that smear a restaurants reputation..." I'll have the Meat Lover's Pizza with extra bacon, extra Italian sausage, extra cheese, and there better not be any grease on my pizza."...- OK !

Fast food is what it is. It's relatively expensive in what you get for your buck. It's often high in sodium and fat. It's not good for your body. But, if you only eat it once in awhile, no big deal. It's the people that eat that stuff every day and wonder why their doctor is calling them obese that I wonder about. It's lazy man's food.

Captain D's and Long John Silver's. After eating at these places, I now have an idea as to what they do with all the fish that die during an oil spill..........

I worked at Sbarro as an assistant manager/cook in the early 90's and we made some good food back then,at least our store did.But back then I personally made fresh sauces and rolled fresh dough every day,we very rarely used sauce or dough that was kept even overnight.Apparently they started using pre-prepared dough and sauces a while back and I really think that makes a difference in quality and freshness(of course).Anyway,I liked the food there at the time and it was the only chain pizza I really liked.Otherwise there are several mom & pop places in my area that make way better pizza than you'll ever get from Domino's or Pizza Hut.If you are ever in Duluth MN order from Sammy's or Lee's,you will not regret it!

Some of these articles are such garbage. Basically you have a writer attacking all the nationwide big name franchises hoping to give notoriety to some lesser known regional start-ups or trendy places that only certain people hangout at which are posted in a different article. Is the food at some of these places always the greatest? No, but after years of warning people who still go to these places have to know what they are getting into going there. I mean there is one these places above in every town or in Big cities every other street corner and places around the World so how can you define them as being America's worst when they have been the most successful and far reaching?

We used to have a Sbarros at my local mall back in the 90s and it was really good. Maybe the quality has gone down hill since then, but i really enjoyed it back in the 90s.

This article should be titled "don't eat at the mall honey, let's go to nice Italian or Greek place after."

This is the second news story about the same consumer reports list, that list as far as burgers goes give top marks to a chain only found in Arizona (which has 4 open locations). Which as usual begs to question the validity of this survey as far as the claim Americas best or worse.

The Burger King in my area cooks the burger meat and then puts it in a "warming" drawer. Which

one, from which shift, from what day, do you get the one put in your burger?

Everyone enjoys a quick meal.    There is no problem if you don't eat it every day.  In other words, enjoy the fast food but fix your healthy/non-fat meals at home.

What do people expect? People are served food in a matter of minutes, and most people treat the food as a stop gap - whether it be going to a drive through booth, or getting someone else to order the food for them. You can't expect to get gourmet standard food in this format. Yet another stupid review from a clearly incompetent reporter.

Sbarro is NOT "New York style" at all.  If you want "New York Style" pizza, come to New York and get a slice at an independent pizzeria.
