If doing any where from $143 million to 800+ million in sales puts you in the category of  "small" business, then I'd hate to see what the "big" businesses are doing in sales...

Forbes obviously doesn't know what a small business is. More than 60% of workers in this country work for companies with fewer than fifty employees. I've never understood why neither political party has figured out who its constituency is. Fifty employee companies do NOT have a billion dollars in sales. Get real.

MOM &POPS BUSINESS ARE THE SMALL BUSINESS IN TODAYS WORLD THEY BARELY MAKE ENOUGH TO STAY OPEN AND DONOT GET THE GRANTS AND LOANS THE SMALL BUSINESS ARE GETTING.

More small business go under ,stores like Wall-mart don't help the mom & pop stores. You really have to like what your doing,and work real hard  Good Luck   bye

Mom and Pop stores have less then 8 people working for them and half are family.

We need to push for the MOM & POPS business. Federal government should provide grants to improve stores in bad conditions. provide grants to upgrade equipment and employee training

those top10 listed don't even do business in po hood. They hire outsiders for good paying jobs and give the hood employees the leftovers
