Obamacare sign-ups exploded in November

But the number of enrollees, while encouraging for the White House, is still far from the original goal.

About 100,000 people signed up for health insurance in November through HealthCare.gov, the plagued online federal health exchange, according to Bloomberg News' Julianna Goldman

The number would mean about four times as many people enrolled through the federal exchanges in November when compared to October.

The Obama administration has yet to release specific enrollment numbers, saying it will do so officially on a monthly basis.

The number, while encouraging for the administration, is still far from its original goal. Marilyn Tavenner, the administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, said at a Senate hearing last month that the administration had hoped for 800,000 enrollees in October and November.

Just more than 100,000 people total signed up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act in October. The bulk of that came from state-run exchanges. Only 26,794 signed up via HealthCare.gov, the rollout of which was disastrous at the beginning of October. The federal website serves 36 states.

The Obama administration announced a "tech surge" in late October as the problems piled up, and on Sunday it declared that it had met the goal of improving the website to the point where the "vast majority" of users can use the site without much trouble.

Some of the key changes touted in a progress report from the administration:

  • The site will now be able to support a maximum of 800,000 visitors per day, including a target of 50,000 concurrent visits.
  • The site is now online 90% of the time, according to the The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
  • The "tech surge" that came to the site in late October has helped to fix 400-plus bugs and glitches on a "punch list."
  • The average response time of the site is now less than one second, an improvement from about 8 seconds in late October.

"The bottom line: HealthCare.gov on December 1st is night and day from where it was on October 1st," Jeff Zients, the official in charge of the tech surge, said in a conference call with reporters on Sunday.

The fact that people are signing up, finally, can hardly be considered a measure of "success". Remember, we have no choice in the matter, and since most of the people signing up now have had their current insurance policies cancelled, I see it as an act of  desperation.

But, by all means, let the BS continue to flow from the mouthpieces of this administration.

obamacare has been officially re-named to DISASTERCARE

(Which, inadvertently is also synonymous  to everything obama touched in the past 5 years)

What a joke this spin about how great the site is doing! I have tried to sign up and filled in the blanks as requested but recieved the spinning wait indicator of death for over 15 minutes, Once it did spring back to life it gave me the statement that at this time it could not process the information given to create an account! I am done with this and will not be attempting to do so again.

Over 5 million have lost health there insurance and 100,000 signed up. That sounds like a great deal to people. I am tired of this crazy a$$ left wing people who want everything paid for by someone else. The issue I have is that people need to lower their expectations, and accept you have to work for $10 an hour at Walmart to live. We will keep losing jobs to our overseas partner (China) due to economic policy. “Clinton” signed the free trade deal so we need to accept it. Just like in 5 years the ACA aka Obama care will bit us in the butt. Until the people and the liberal media remove their lips from all the positions butts we will not make this country any better. Live is the filth we created.

It looks like the mainstream media has started jumping back on Obama's bandwagon.  90% uptime acceptable?  How long would Amazon or similar companies be in business with equivalent numbers?  Yet MSN reports it like it is "Mission Accomplished".  This is only the beginning of the problems, people.  This whole system is going to be insolvent by this time next year.  And that is not because of the GOP trying to kill it, it is because the system is just that bad and relies on impossible math to balance the ACA budget.  Let's just scrap it now, acknowledge that this is a redistribution of wealth, and come up with a plan to pay ANOTHER entitlement to many who are getting the equivalent of  $50-60k of entitlements already just for breathing and stop monkeying with the health insurance of people who are already responsible enough to work to get it.  ANY person on here who says that it is justifiable to take away the insurance of someone who was doing the right thing up until now and can no longer afford it because of these wealth distribution laws taking too much and then GIVING health insurance who doesn't want to work because they are too comfortable the way things are would be part of the problem in this equation.  We are to the point that we have more people living off of the government than we have supporting it through taxes.  How much longer do you think that this can continue?

In discussing the future for his daughters when 2017 comes, Obummer said: " they made a lot of sacrifices on behalf of my cockamamie ideas, the running for office and things. Hey Doofus: " WHAT ABOUT US?

Impeach the socialist in 2015 when both houses in Congress are under control to have the rocks to say yes.

How can one sign up if there is no provision implemented to pay the premium?

If in October,  we had ten signed up for the Horrble Care Act, and 20 signed up in November, that would be a 100% increase. That sounds great on MSN, but it is only ten more people. That is the media love for all things Obama personified.

Have they fixed the security of the information the people are giving out?  Last month they said, "No one knows who is getting your personal information!"  The system was non securable.

This head line is the result of our education system that rewards every child as a winner just because they draw breath and show up to class. This is the same mentality that elected President Obama with little experience in politics or life for that matter. Just because he shows up to golf and draws breath does not qualify him to be the executive of the United States of America.

Just when will real leadership arrive at the White House and the Congress?

Clear indication that MSN and other Marxist media is helping with this scam exploiting the working tax payer. Exploded, like a childs balloon, filled with hot, bad breath from Obama. EBT card ghetto have nots aren't going for this. Selling out Israel will have to be Obama's legacy. Eight years of incompetent bumbling is what Obama has done, anyone could have done something with eight years of being president, is this the best the Black America could come up with. President Obummer is his name now.   Just a lot of jive, no action and couldn't stir up the racial hatred, Michele is a racist and stirred the pot. How could this woman be some kind of fashion guru with that ghetto booty. America and the Obama's are the laughting stock of the world, next to the whores of Kardasians.

What is really troubling is that the President and his lackeys are seeing the increase in signups as a success to this plan. The government originally wanted a total of 800,000 people signing up in October and December. I guess only the way politicians do mathematics could a $100,000 people signing up on November and only $26,794 signing up in October could be considered a success.

They expected a total of $1,600,000 people signing up for the two months and they get $126,794. If a company ran their business with using these kind estimates they go bankrupt before the year is out. They only reason why our government is not going bankrupt is because they have the Fed printing out money by the billions.

What should concern everyone is how many of the $126,794 that signed up on the exchanges are the young and health twenty year old and how many are the old and sickly who are going to increase the insurance costs.

Wow!  100,000 people!

But wait, 5,000,000 and rising have been dropped from their current "bad" plans.

This is a success?

Obamacare... A ridiculously huge waste of taxpayer dollars that is going to bankrupt taxpayers.

The government has no right to force the citizens of this country to purchase health care, especially a health care plan from which the politicians exempted themselves... in all aspects. Nor do they have the right to force the taxpaying citizens to support and pay for health care for the rest of the country. That's communism, people.

Does any one know what this botched launch of ACA is costing us?  Who's going to pay for it?  Does any one know how much the next and the next ACA mess up is going to cost us?  There is NOTHING "affordable" about this healthcare plan.  Its all hot air blowing from the White House.  And as usual, its ALL on OUR dime!!!

Is any of you as tired of the BS as I am?  Let's see a thumbs-up!!!

Signing up and actually paying for it is two different things.
