This has become such a huge issue over the past couple years. It is about time something is getting done about it. I was surprised to find a lot of the companies I thought would not support it actually did. I also was shocked to find out that Walmart was so against it; I won't be shopping their anytime soon.

I am tired of listening to all your religious people saying how you do not want it being shoved down your throat. We are at a time when society is ready to accept it and move forward. Once all of this is done with everyone can live happily ever after and live their lives. I really don't understand religious people at all. You can't accept something that is clearly never going away. You are creating a lot of the sins you try so hard to avoid. You follow a ridiculous book that makes no sense to this era and live by it. If the bible said for you to go jump off a cliff, would you? Ignore it if you do not support it. These issues are a matter of equality and giving everyone the opportunity to live their lives peacefully.

If this is a choice, why are so many kids still "choosing'' to be gay after they are bullied and beat up for it? Why are kids committing suicide everyday for it? I am a Lesbian and support Mitt Romney. My only problem is why is sexuality being made a political matter? Does it affect the country and it's well being? No. What does is illegal immigration, our national debt. I may only be a ''stupid 19 year old who knows nothing" but these are my views.

The issue is not about rights, gay people have the same legal rights as everyone else. Even Prop 8 wasn't about adding or taking away rights from gay people. The issue is moral equivalency. People who support LGBT don't want to be looked at as being morally wrong. If gay marriage is protected by law, then other rights (church, business, speech against, etc.) will be diminished.

The Thrill is in the down fall. So after people so call repent and they think there living a socially acceptable lifestyle deep down in the psyche that sense of entitlement will kick in  and most fall deeper! We live in a justified world the only thing wrong with it is the inhabitants. Homo means we are all the same and we will all suffer the same fate. If Adam and Eve was in the garden I would slither my influence upon them and ask Eve " so you want to know how to make apple pie!".

As we see our society become more and more sinful, I pray more people see and recognize their sin. Our lord and savior loves everyone, and wants them to repent or their sins. Brother and sisters we need to share our faith and gospel in love, our harsh words and actions pushes the lost away from the lord. We need to spread the gospel.

To the: liar, murderer, idolitor, racist, homosexual, etc...

God loves you, but hates your sinful actions and thoughts. As he does everyones sin, repent and see the truth. Christ is ready to forgive everyone!!!!

My god be with all of us. WWJD

Christians are against homosexuality for the same reason we are against murder, rape, and theft.  The Bible says that they are wrong.  To be a Christian means to trust and obey God and His Word.  The Bible also tells us that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Christians, like God, don't want anyone to perish but all to come to everlasting life.  Christians are called to speak the truth in love, share God's Word, and make disciples of the nations.  The passage quotes from Matthew 7 about judging is not talking about confronting people about their sin.  It's talking about condemning someone for a sin while you are continuing in that same sin.  It's condemning hypocrisy; not a Christian's stand against sin.  We have good news: salvation through Jesus.  Part of a Christian's job is sharing that good news with those around us.

I honestly don't understand why it's such a big issue for everybody. Why can't you just accept people for the way they are. Just because I like peaches over apples, I should have less rights than you? It doesn't make sense. People deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. We have no evidence of gays being born that way or not but logic is all one needs to use to see that they are and that they just want to be loved.

For the people using the bible as an excuse to put down LGBT's, let me say something. In the bible, it states that MAN is the only one given free will. Interesting right? Then, how come Animals are homosexual?  And even if it is a choice, you got a choice of religion without the loss of any rights, why should they lose rights over their choices?

This is identical to the women's rights and African-American rights situations. People are just afraid of change. They feel that they'll lose power, that things will completely change. Gay rights will probably benefit the country, especially gay marriage because it'll bring in alot of money. Canada is doing just fine with them being married.

Hello,
I am (and proud to say so) a CHRISTIAN and i am Gay. Its truely a blessing to see other people defending others like me. This whole war about gay rights is ignorant. Just as ignorant as it was to have slaves and treat a woman like property rather then a person. From our past mistakes we should know ALL man is equal. Do I and people like me not have a right to be happy? Why can i not marry someone i love? Isn't The Lord God the judge above all? Isn't God love? I am independent on my political standpoint and and I AM A CHRISTIAN. I believe the Lord Jesus Christ is my savior and i follow no religion. This whole subject saddens me. Who are we to have so much hate and have such a war over something as simple as wanting to be treated like a normal person. I assure you if you cut me i will bleed and my blood will be red. I have many friends Straight and Gay but thats not how i see them. I see them and true friends and a blessing form God. My partner and I have been together for 4 yrs now. We have been faithful to one another all the way. Fortunately we live in a place where being gay isnt anything special but just another part of every day life. No one has treated us differently because of it. Thats the world i see. A world with no persicution nor special treatment. My life has been a mortal hell when i came out as gay. But i was tired of making female friends of mine miserable because i was miserable. I didnt want to be with them and it made two life suffer rather then mine. I even back slid in my faith. At 16 my family banished me from them with no money but a full tank of gas. They actually hoped i died. Do you know how destructive that is? My father was my hero. No high school education and these last words from my father, " You better leave this town if you know whats good for you. Your gonna burn in hell you F***ing Fa**ot" were all i had. I never want to see this happen to anyone. In closing I want to say peace is all i ask. I want to be seen and not a gay guy but as Coty. Thank you for your time.

I get a kick out of reading all this nonsense. 100 years ago your mothers wouldn't have been allowed to vote because they were considered the lower gender and african americans were considered to be humans just above apes on the evolutionary scale. Believe it or not, all these beliefs were pushed by (drum roll) CHRISTIANS. I am a christian and believe church and state should be completely seperate from each other. Let people live and practice their faith as they believe, just like all the rest of the other religions in the world. Judge not least ye be judged.....or as they say Karma is a bitch!

Hi, I am a  Christian. While I am not in favor of same sex marriage, I do not hate gay people. Whether people are born gay or its a behavioral choice I don't know and don't claim to and frankly it doesn't matter to me. Remember Christians , judge not lest ye be judged. We aren't THE judge or a judge of man. We have free will and a right to choose but EVERYONE will be judged and their actions will have consequences. I am not specifically pointing this statement at any particular issue. I am also tired of generalizations of Christians being close minded , naive hypocrites. Just as one pedophile teacher / clergyman, racist cop, lazy union worker or hypocritical (insert faith here) doesn't represent what I believe is majority of that particular group etc.....If anyone is on a soapbox beating their chest for a cause or belief than where does the true glory go to? Forcing any belief on someone is the same as an insincere apology Let your 'light' shine through grace and dignity. If a gay couple marries , don't take it personally, if your faith is strong it shouldn't bother you. And to gay people, don't take it so personally if someone disagrees with your lifestyle. And to everyone, hurling insults and judgements at people just means you don't have anything intelligent to say to back up your point.

Discrimination is against the law.  Homophobes would be shocked to know how many PEOPLE they come in contact with everyday who are gay.  You cannot tell by looking at them, cannot tell by talking with them.   So what possible difference can it really make to anyone?  They work at your favorite stores, banks, restaurants, etc.,  and places of entertainment - would you suddenly stop going to these places if you found out your favorite clerk/server/barber/nurse/doctor is gay?  Please.   People are born gay, but religious zealots are not born zealots.  Get over it.

I am a liberal repub. Citizenship conveys rights regardless of gender or orientation. Strike the words "gay marriage" and grant civil domestic partnerships which convey the same rights regarding inheritance, SSI benefits, and healthcare coverage. "Gay marriage" is a buzzword used by both left and right to inflame the emotions of their respective bases. Adoption is different, and should be reviewed case by case as all adoptions are in this every western country. That said, even Alabama allows same sex couples to adopt in some cases.

Glad to know that my favorite store, Walmart, has remained firmly against the social presures to embrace the LGBT agenda. I will continue to shop there, and will try to support other companies who remain faithful to a Biblical stand on issues such as this one.
