Once-trendy brands that lost their cool

At the height of their fame these big retail names were seemingly unstoppable. Now they're struggling to remain relevant.

Love my Crocs!! Keep them by the back door for yard / garden work or washing the car.
Hose em off, ready to go again.

Who cares about trendy anyway.  Three is a problem in society when your clothing matters more than what kind of person you are. Dress appropriately and your will do fine.

I am just tired of buying over priced garbage. What ever happened to quality?

All the other stuff, Coach, etc. aren't paying me to advertise their products. My kids' generation sported Nike shirts, American Eagle and all the other stuff.

I like my clothes somewhat tailored in appearance, did the 'fads' when I was younger but we didn't 'advertise' on our clothing.

It's not just Coach - it's all these high-end products. They always have something on it to indicate how much money you spent for the product and make it a 'must have'. I've been looking for a shoulder bag & can't find one I like - too big or too small. I finally find one - it closes with the initials in big brass letters - MK - for Michael Kors. He isn't paying me or giving me any discount on a $150 product nor is Kenneth Cole or anyone else. I buy things that will last for years and want them to remain nameless.

Who decides what's cool or not!!   The media decides the Crocs are not cool and write an article, then people stop buying Crocs and their stock value goes down.   Hmmmm.

I don't have Crocs but a rip-off I found in an off-price store for $5 several yrs. ago. They're great for working outside or slugging thru the rain. Are they ugly? Yes. Finally wore those out, found them again a couple of yrs. later in the same store and am still wearing them for anything outdoors. They had an on-line deal for Crocs so I ordered them, knowing I'd never see the cheapos again and had to send them back - the cheap ones fit better! I sat and compared the 2 - the width, length and everything possible and couldn't find the difference but sure felt it. They get dirty, I toss them in the wash with the dog's stuff plus, for some odd reason, they help with the arthritis in my back. Sneakers hurt my back - I've tried them all, I have tons of leather shoes and can't wear most of them - a couple of pairs are 'saved' for when I'm not running errands. I wish I could find the knock-offs.

I'm always amazed at how people go along with what others say or dictate. No mind of their own. "Oh, they say it's not in fashion anymore, so I will stop wearing it". No mind of their own.

I wear Crocs because I like them and they are comfortable, and I'm certainly not going to stop wearing them because of a few people that decide among themselves that its not cool.

Love all of my Crocs. I also love that they have come up with so many different, cute styles. When they 1st came out my husband said "Don't buy me any Crocs". I bought him a pair anyway. Now he won't wear anything else  (except his golf shoes).  He has gotten some really nice looking Crocs that look like deck shoes that he wears to work.

Right now I am suffering from what feels like a heel spur. The ONLY shoes I can wear are my Crocs ... ALL of the different styles that I have. They are so cushioned. I hope they never go out of business and continue to come out with new styles. We were just in a Crocs outlet store. It was packed with people.  I bought two new pair for myself and my husband got one new pair.

Crocs -  Love them or hate them.  I hope those of us that love them keep them in business.

Think for yourself instead of following fads.

MSN and MSNBC are two brands that have very recently earned this honor.  At one time they were both pretty cool but in recent years they have sunk lower and lower and lower...

I wish wearing those I Love Pink sweats from Victoria Secret would go away, $100.00 or more for a sweatshirt and sweatpants with Pink across the behind is rediculous

not sure "who" decides what is and isn't cool anymore.  I LOVE MY CROCS!  And I know I am VERY COOL!! :)

I'm sorry, but CROCS were NEVER cool.

I don't know about anyone else posting here, but personally speaking, I think Crocs are the absolute ugliest piece of footwear ever created!
Aug 10, 2014 5:32PM
LoL Crocs. If you wear these out of the house we're all laughing at you.
Aug 10, 2014 5:20PM
As a retired elevator and escalator inspector  I  went to many accident scenes where the persons toes or foot were cut off due to wearing these on escalators and moving walkways rubbing the Croc  against the sides of the unit and when they heat  up then they are pulled in and severe injuries and even death has occured. BEWARE!!

This has been one of the best inside jokes of all-time. Most Croc wearers never got why people snickered when they walked by. Kind of sad to see that simple pleasure go away. It would be like the circus getting rid of all the clowns.

Crocs are over priced. I like the function of the shoes but I buy a the same type of shoe online at a third of the cost.
