12 of the best ad jingles ever
Ready for an earworm or two? For six decades, advertisers have given us a slew of songs designed to get in our heads and stay there -- and sell a few products along the way.
Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun (McDonalds)
There are so, so many good jingles left out that you couldn't find a 10th any better than Free Credit Report? How about:
Let your fingers do the walking through the Yellow Pages
I am stuck on Band-Aids ’cause Band-Aid's stuck on me
Double your pleasure, double your fun, with Doublemint gum (ads used a series of twins)
M'mm good. M'mm good. That's what Campbell's Soups are. (we used that in a phone prank in college - sing the jingle and you win a case of soup: everyone in our dorm knew it.)
My dog’s bigger than your dog, My dog’s bigger than yours…(Ken-L-Ration)
The best part of waking up is Folgers in your cup!
In the valley of the jolly…ho ho ho…Green Giant
My bologna has a first name, it’s O-S-C-A-R, My bologna has a second name it’s M-A-Y-E-R
Hot dogs! Armor Hot dogs! What kind of kids eat Armor hot dogs?
You can trust your car to the man that wears the star (Texaco Gas)
I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Toys R Us kid.
How are you fixed for blades? Gillette Blue Blades we mean.
It's the Pepsi Generation...,and: Join the Pepsi People...
Dr. Pepper, so misunderstood...
Shaeffer is the one beer to have, when you're having more than one.
Take it off, take it all off (Noxzema Shaving Cream)
"Hey big spender, spend a little dime with me" (Edie Adams singing for Muriel Cigars)
Brylcream - a little dab will do ya.
And locally in Baltimore:
National Beer! National Beer! You'll like the taste of National Beer.
Everybody goes to Ginos, cause Ginos is the place to go (it's coming back!)
What about the Mounds and Almond Joy?
Sometimes you feel like a nut... Sometimes you don't.
Almond Joy's got nuts... Mounds don't
sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't
I still sing this song in my head when I want one.
They missed so may good ones for some crappy one.
If it says LIBBYS, LIBBYS, LIBBYS on the label, label, label, you will like it, like it, like it,
on the table, table, table.
Had to be late 60's or 70's and you cant get that out of your head!
Another one of Barry Manilow's well-known jingles is "I am stuck on Band-Aid cause Band-Aid's stuck on me!"
What about Hamms beer... from the land of sky blue wa-at-ters

"Brylcreem -a little dab'll do ya"
"Do, do, do, do, do, do a dollop of Daisy"
If you're gonna add the Free Credit Report... thing... that should open up "Mr. Owl, how many licks to the center of a tootsie pop?" Which is FAR more iconic, and back in circulation.
I also liked the "This is Budwiser... this is beer" Campaign.
What!!!! Nobody claimed the old Ken-L-Ration dog food commercial circa the Speedy Alka Seltzer time?
My dog's better than your dog. My dog's better than yours.
My dog's better 'cause he eats Ken-L-Ration, my dog's better than yours.
Every time I see a Golden Retriever the song comes to mind!!
There were some awesome cigarette jingles in the 60's and 70's, but of course those are taboo now!
I liked the "Like a Rock" Chevy commercials better with Bob Seger's song than the old one.
Haven't seen a reference to Amour Hotdogs - although saying 'fat' probably would be considered un-PC these days:
Hot dogs, Armour hotdogs
What kind of kids eat Armour hotdogs
Big kids, little kids
Kids who climb on rocks
Fat kids, skinny kids
Even kids with chicken pox
Love hot dogs, Armour hotdogs
The dogs kids love to bite!
