Dunkin' Donuts praises employee after racist tirade

The woman who videotaped her rant, however, is experiencing the Internet's revenge.

Taylor Chapman posted the eight-minute video online, hoping to show the world that when you rudely berate teenage employees -- and threaten to blow up the planet, as an aside -- you will indeed get the free food promised after you didn't get a receipt during a prior visit.

Chapman's world has now been turned upside down. Vengeful Internet users have posted her home address, phone number, email addresses and date of birth. The 27-year-old is being slammed online as a horrible person. She has deleted her Facebook page and is being hounded by The Smoking Gun and other sites.

And the two employees who took her abuse, including an unfailingly polite 18-year-old who earns about $8 an hour, are getting lauded by Dunkin' Donuts. "We commend the franchisee's crew member for handling this difficult situation with grace and patience," the company said in a statement sent to Gawker. The owner of the franchise has reached out to the employee to express appreciation, Dunkin' added.

Others have started an campaign to raise $10,000 for the two employees, though by Wednesday the campaign had received only $585 in pledges.

The teenager, Abid Adar, told The Smoking Gun that he had never encountered a customer as rude as Chapman. He plans to attend Florida Atlantic University in the fall and hopes to become a doctor -- and from what we've seen, he will probably be a very patient one.

I think the teenage employee's did a commendable job and I think that the franchise owner should give each of them at least a $100.00 gift card.

Wonder how much work or free crap this POS bigot is getting now.  I don't have one ounce of sympathy for this garbage byotch.

My knee jerk reaction was going to be that if she ever has kids who work these kinds of jobs that someone will be as rude to them as she was.  But that really wouldn't be fair to the kids.  Maybe plastering her photo at every drive up window within a hundred miles of her home would be appropriate.

Such a potty mouth speaking to someone trying to help resolve her complaint.  He certainly didn't deserve that.  Kudos to that employee for keeping his cool!  You ROCK!

I commend the employees.  But also, their boss should institute training that employees are not required to be abused.  They should be trained to refuse service, 86 the offending customer and call the police to remove the trespasser.  The employees should be empowered & their self-esteem should not be victimized.

ignorance can be remedied- stupid is forever. why does everyone take video when they are doing something and think the world wants to know? vandals recording being vandals. people behaving badly and then they are amazed when the people they are acting out for are as nasty and exhibitionist as they are. stupid just cant be fixed.

Taylor Chapman needs a good smack.  When people have to deal with jerks like you, Taylor, they ought to be able to just put you on the floor.  One or the other of your parents should have taught you a little humility, or at least a bit of caution.  Your belief that being a total buttchunk to others is acceptable is completely shameful.  I imagine that when others treat you the way you have treated them, you cry and scream.

Any grief she gets from this is richly deserved.  She's nothing more than trash.  Obviously disturbed at some level, but no excuse for acting like a walking, talking a$$hole.  Kudos to the young people behind the counter, they are class all the way.  The more she tried to act "smart", the bigger idiot she made herself out to be.

Unfortunately, Ms. Chapman probably votes.  Worse, she may even multiply one  day!

Kudos to the kids.  This woman needs to grow up...  Maybe she should get a menial job in fast food or another similar industry and witness daily the abuse these people take from otherwise "normal" people.  Some people have to berate anyone they deem "under their social status".  I would have probably fed her the free food....

Taylor Chapman, you made an 8 minute video dropping all kinds of foul language and names towards the 2 workers at Dunkin' Donuts and posted it online because you didn't get a receipt?  Sorry, but you do deserve any negativity that comes your way.  There are much bigger issues that you should worry about than showing the entire world that your self-aggrandizing needs for free food come far before the feelings of those trying to help you.

Sounds to me like she's been hittin' the crack-pipe.....Crack kills people!

Threatening to blow up the planet? Over a lousy doughnut? Sounds like a terrorist to me! Ship her off to Gitmo!!!!

maybe the kid will become a doctor a specialist  and she will become his patient

 pay back time. lmao.

I wonder where this peice of crap racist works . I would not wan't to be a co-worker . Those kids  working showed so much class by ignoring her as much as possible . One again what a racist piece of Crap . WHITE TRASH !!!!!

This woman keeps talking about going to Mars and nuking the planet in the midst of her obsession with not getting a receipt.  She's obviously mentally ill.  That doesn't make her behavior acceptable, but it provides some context.  The comments posted on the actual You Tube video are enlightening.  So many people calling her out for her behavior and language themselves using language every bit as vile as hers!

Should have just told her to go **** herself. What a totally crazy ****!
Jun 12, 2013 3:56PM

I certainly hope that this was all worth it. To talk to someone like that and to really care that much about such a trivial issue is unreal. So now her world is turned upside down? Who cares!! She deserves what she gets. I hope she doesn't get a minute of peace and guess what after she walked out the store I am sure they just laughed about her.

I hope she is enjoying the negative feedback that she is getting. Honey sometimes using social media is not a good idea.

Kudos to these workers!!! They are to be commended!

So, pathetic that someone would behave in such a childish manner; then post it on Facebook as though she has accomplished a great feat. The teenage workers get my praise, for one because they acted in a mature manner and handled the situation with grace, for two they are working. When working in the fast food industry for minimum wage, its hard and there are jerks like this idiot, who come in everyday. Dunkin should at least offer something to the two of them for  great customer services.
