Wow..........  Leah Culler needs to get out and see what's really out there.  She clearly lives in a box.  She's putting together some of the most expensive options.  You can get a high end hotel room for half of what she's posting.

I can get an excellent meal also for half of what she posted......... all of this even in most  major cities.  MSN needs to find somebody that can connect better with their audience.

Such a wasted article.

This report is way off.  Anybody can come up with a list of major cities that are expensive.  Why weren't places like Louisville, Little Rock, and Memphis on there?  Complete waist of my time reading this.

Where does she think of these things.  These are not cheap dates.

Sounds like the author wanted to tell everyone that she dates rich guys.

Stupid me! I went through all 10 of these picks for "cheap dates." Maybe the cheap ones are footnotes religated to the morgue. These prices are rediculous but it goes with the cities reviewed. Maybe someday when enough people complain loudly enough about these insane, obscene "reporters," some of these blogs will get real. Believe it not America, NYC and LA are not the hubs and centers of the universe.

Memo to MSN "journalist" Leah Culler:

Houston's underground tunnel system is open from 6 am to 6 pm.  That makes it kinda hard to utilize for a night out on the town.  Had you done even the slightest amount of research on your subject matter, you would have realized it.

Damn.....just when I think MSN writers can't get any worse.....

In this economy, the average American probably can not afford $300 for a date night.  Looks like MSN continues to pander to the rich elitists.

What a waste of time. Another "article" to promote or sell for the highest bidder. Nothing to do with reality or real public service info. Shame on us we keep falling for it.

Why does a date have to cost $100+ That would be the anniversary special, maybe, but that much for a regular date would put a lot of us in debt. No wonder so many guys think it's too expensive to have a girlfriend.

I promise I will never click one of these MSN "fluff" pieces again.

That"s not right. Portland can be for much cheaper! For everything $147.00.
Jul 4, 2013 12:11PM
This article is ridiculous! I guarantee I can find cheaper and better places than that.  I am from New York City and I know great places to take a date for $20.    Now... if I  was a wall street yuppie than this article would be suitable.

Seems they just picked a couple popular cities to write about. Drinks are NOT cheap in New Orleans. Worse, nothing AT ALL is cheap in Miami and Vegas! Especially Vegas. Think we'd have had more value if they named some choice spots within these cities where u could get cheap dinners.

If you are looking for cheap, you might need to stay home

Since this article is about a "date" and not a destination "outing", then why are the $ fees of taxi and hotel room factored in?  A local person can supply his/her own transportation, and since the daters live locally, they have their own domicile(s) between them to choose from for an overnight "sleepover".

A friend of mine was a great "cheap date" to have.  For her, a Mexican restaurant that served chips, salsa dip, and margaritas suited her fine with an evening of conversations . . . she was a person of considerable substance!

How do people really believe this, it don't matter where the date is, what matters is both of you feel right together and have things in common.  Duh!!!!

wow. rather telling for what it omits.  st louis has more free stuff to do than almost anywhere.  free movies, concerts all season long.
