The value of anything is only what someone else is willing to pay for it. So the only time something is "overpriced" is when no one is willing to pay that.

Only way I would ever buy any old sport memorabilia is if I knew I could turn right around and make a big profit.... that is unlikely so for me I won't be buying!

The only people who pay these stratospheric prices for stuff are those who could afford to lose that kind money and still get a goods night sleep. I guess the super rich like many poor folk, yearn to bask in the reflected glory of others.
