Another quote from Jefferson is:

"There are two ways to conquer a country.  One is by the sword.  The other is by debt."

Democracy fails when we take from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.        also from Thomas Jefferson........the exact opposite which is being done by Obama.

A lesson that is lost on our current crop of "politicians" , I refuse to call them leaders as that would insult everyone.

The problem with Socialism is at some point you run out of someone else's money!

The trouble with a Free press is they are often too free with their opinions and much less so with the truth.

The only thing politicians know what to do with many is,  "Take it".

If we cut out all foreign aid and stopped being at war all the time, we would have no debt.

A previous poster stated it correctly:

Another quote from Jefferson is: "There are two ways to conquer a country. One is by the sword. The other is by debt."

The above quote by Jefferson should be required reading and then memorized by members of the Senate, House and Executive branches of our national, state and local governments.

The American Sheeple are too weak and greedy to learn that constant debt is gonna rob our children & grandchildren. We're the people that the next generations will call lazy sorry bastards, and how can you blame them, look at what we're doing to them. We are a despicable bunch of cretins who are subjecting them to taxation without representation how could they respect us? .

Mr. "Southdem:" What part of 9/11/01 did you not get? The fact that George W. Bush indebted us was due in part that Congress created thousands of worthless parasites called "TSA," and the too stupid to work at the post office, Office of Homeland Security. So, it was a knee jerk reaction to the equivalent of "Pearl Harbor" that motivated President Bush to increase spending that would never have happend but for Islamic extremism. Sorry, sir, your revision of history is unbecoming a southern gentleman, which from your uncultured retort, quite clearly indicates you not to be.

Oh my "Southdem", please don't continue. You'll embarrass the rest of us Southerners with your lack of understanding of the obvious.

I would love to read the quotes of Washington, Adams,Jefferson, and Reagan to obama. Also, would love to show him The Constitution, since he seems to be ignorant of it!

What we can learn from past presidents of the U. S. is that at least they were AMERICANS & born here & were for the people.

And which of these words of wisdom do NOT apply to our spending AS A NATION??

George Washington

"To contract new Debts is not the way to pay old ones."

You can't get out of debt if you keep digging.

Even Bill Clinton's smiling at paying the top 1% tax rate, and the following discussion, acknowledges that the 1% pay OVER ONE THIRD (like 40%) of the total tax bill while ONE HALF of all Americans pay ZERO federal income taxes.  Fair share?  How about FLAT TAX??  Then EVERYONE will be interested in what incumbents do with THEIR tax dollars to BRIBE the gullible to re-elect them.

Do I need to use expletives???

This is Presidents Day, we are celebrating those wise men who started this great nation.  We are not celebrating the debit ceiling, tax evasion by anyone that can find a loop hole, or stashing your money off shore.  Today is the day we look back and think of the lessons that were taught to our ancestors with blood.  They fought against Tyranny and they won and helped to make these United States the greatest nation on earth.  Every other country wants to be us.  Millions of people come here every year to be able to follow their dream, they cannot do that in other countries.  As the song says, #From Sea to Shining Sea", we set the standard of what freedom is, let us not lose it now.  Keep fighting the good fight in Congress and pray for a good outcome.
