Julius, the woman holding the mask is actress Linda Evans. She was very beautiful when she was young; but we all mature and our looks change. The only remedy for aging is death.  I think Linda Evans is still a beautiful woman. Some people think any woman over 30 is ready for the grave.  Bet you look like the south end of a north bound  elephant.

I used to own those doggie steps and when both my dogs get older ill being buying it again. And the shape ups I have a pair I used to wear at an old job bef I bought them I was having back problems and my legs would kill me. From having 2 jobs. I bought em and not only did  my legs and back stop hurting but I gained a little muscle in my calfs.

The writer's obviously not a pet person. They hit the mark on most of these products, except the toilet training kit for cats (Honestly, who likes cleaning litter boxes? I'll do anything to avoid that chore.) and the pet steps (What's wrong with wanting to make sure your aging friend is comfortable?

Adding automobiles that have long been out of production to the list of "what were they thinking" products just goes to show you the author of this article had nothing better to do and is biased against gun owners, animal lovers, single people that love electrical gadgets in their kitchens and want a quick and easy lunch, among other things, and must have been having a 'hormone flux' when she dreamed up this so-called article.

For all of those dogging on the bedside gun, if you notice, there's a second spacer for the clip.. Which means you can't just wake up in the middle of the night and randomly shoot something or someone unless you already loaded the gun with a clip. With the exception of being a vet. We'd be a lot safer if all these ignorant people would learn gun safety. Just saying

BS, BS, BS ..... I own a shake weight and it has added muscle to my arms, furthermore nowhere in the instructions does it say hold it and it pulsates.....in fact it says you have to shake the crap out of it for 30 to 60 seconds at a time. It is called isometrics, this author (snickers) needs to actually check up on some of their lies before printing them!!

This person who wrote these quips is obviously not a pet person. These are not all bad products, just one person's closed minded opinions.

Liz Weston is, imho, one of the worst 'journalists' I have come across in ages.

I will grant that a few of the products on this list are a joke, like the hair thickener spray, shake weight.

But apparently Liz didn't even bother to do any research at all on these products.

Cat toilet training kit -- great idea, widely used, largely successful

foot undeez -- used by dancers everywhere

Aztek -- I'll grant you they aren't aesthetically appealing to me, but the people I know that have one, love it!

So I would have to say, to paraphrase the writer:

There's no shortage of contenders for the stupid-journalist crown, but Liz Weston manages to rise above her peers for sheer awesome awfulness.

I agree, the doggie steps are a good idea. Lots of dogs sleep on the foot of the bed and it makes it much easier for elderly dogs. The sauna pants however, not a good idea. Wouldn't they make a guy sterile by overheating his boys?

The cat toilet training kit is a great idea, and most of the people I know that have tried it, had great success.

There's nothing 'gross' about this. And it certainly works a lot better than those 'automatic scooping litter boxes, that are just a money drain, and most cats won't use them because they are too small and too noisy.

guy that wrote the comments on these is an arrogant snarky jerk who needs to find some other outlet for what he perceives as his own awesome sense of humor -- because it isn't.

" . . . store your guns so they are not accessible to unauthorized persons." Or to half-asleep nitwits . . ."  Even cops, as untrained as most are, use under-dash holsters, sleep with guns under their pillow, and so on.  How many times have you read stories of "half-asleep nitwits" accidentally unholstering and firing weapons in squad cars, police ready rooms, and the like?  Lots of people are trained and sleep with loaded weapons within reach - soldiers, and others - and very few of them have "incidents".  Your commentary is enlightening, in that it exposes your ignorance and your bias.  "Nitwit" is a good description, sure enough, but the medical term used to describe your condition is hoplophobia.  Look it up.

The doggy steps are actually a good product. I have a dog with back problems and can't jump off the couch or bed, so he uses the steps to get on and off.

Boiled hot dogs?  Are you nuts or just don't have any taste buds?  Hot dogs are grilled.  Only buy kosher hot dogs unless you like pig anuses.

I would not be without my bedside gun holder.  Gun under the pillow is uncomfortable.  If you can't reach your gun, what good is it?  Let's see, there is someone breaking into your house, you get out of bed, you go to the safe, you open the safe and you are shot in the back.

Foot undeez are for dancers, the help pad the balls of the feet so that when doing spins and pivots on the hard surfaces you don't peel off your skin!!!  They were not made to be a fasion accessory.

people that buy this product obviously do not care if their pet is on the furniture, bed, etc.  everyone is entitled to their opinion but please do not disuade people from purchasing this type of product based on what you appear to present as your dislike of animal hair.
