We are getting nickle and dimed to death by the Government and most of the liberal dimwits say we aren't taxed enough????  Look at your water bill, your rental car bill, your bill when you purchase tires, and on and on and on.......Unfortunately, the 47% can't do math nor are they concerned since they pay no federal income tax.........

Just sense,  where do I start with a low information liberal?  Do you understand budget? that means if there is money set aside to build a road then it is done, If the democrats need votes to keep control of there voters then they will  just "give" more away. It will be done as entitlements but republicans hard earned tax money is given to those who do not earn it. I am for a safety net but for years and years?  NO

How about all the billions and billions Obama is "giving" to the muslim countries? how about building some roads with them?

I will tell your liberal friends next time that they are bitching about greedy oil companies and the price of fuel, that another low information liberal said that it was OK for the government to make 70 cents (state and federal) off of every gallon and the oil companies make around 5 cents. remember there are millions of barrels of oil produced , so if you think the oil companies make billions just think what Obama is raking in!

Hint it is not going to fix roads and bridges!

So next time you fill your car and cannot afford it thank a liberal!

The other states still have their ways to get your money. I lived in Indiana where there is a excise tax on the gas but it cost less to register vehicles every year.

I live in Georgia now where I suppose gas tax is cheaper but I pay around $400/yr to register my vehicles.

They get your money, they just change around when they get it. Doesn't matter if it is a red, blue, or purple state.

three of the states are run by the repubs and they are in better fiscal shape than the others. high taxes don't reflect prosperity--in most cases they are indicators of poorly managed money just like the feds do in wash dc. they have plenty of money but spend it foolishly and doesn't get the promises done!!

Everybody blames the big bad oil company, but the big bad gov't is the ones making all the money for no investment.

I live in Henderson, KY.  Just across the river is Evansville, Indiana.  Usually, our gas prices are about 15-20 cents lower than Evansville.  But just about every 2 weeks, EVERY gas station here RAISES their price by about 20-30 cents per gallon which brings us to about equal with Evansville. And I live in Kentucky, mind you, where gas SHOULD be CHEAPER.  But nooooo, they have to match their neighbors to the North....then, after they raise it, they trickle it down a couple of cents a day until it's right back to where it was BEFORE they raised it, which takes anywhere from 1-2 weeks to do and then they start it ALL OVER AGAIN, but you never know when they're going to stop lower it and raise it so it's hard to tell when to get the lowest price for gas....

I've called my local State Representatives about it, but they're never in their office....one of them even has his "office" INSIDE A BANK!  lol.....freaking crazy.....and people here are getting FED UP with this b.s.....

The big oil companies make less than 10 cents a gallon profit.   Who are the greedy folks with a 20% tax?  Oh well, at least it's a use tax and we do not have to purchase gasoline.

I knew that Illinois was going to be on this list. What I don't understand is how, with the outrageous toll fees and pump prices, the roads are still terrible? No joke, I've taken many trips on my bike out of this crappy state and as soon as I cross the borders the roads improve tremendously. Wonder where all that money is really going?

Typical of average Californians to immediately start blaming the greedy oil companies for high gas prices.  And, the Californian Demorats promise better roads, but the taxes goes to general funds to buy more voters through their entitlement programs.  This is a death circle (sort of like a toilet bowl) Californians will never escape from.

Once again...All but a couple are Democrat states. As always Democrat states ran with the Mafia (Unions) cost more to live getting less in return. Why can't Americans see past the smoke screen snake oil they are trying to do to the country? Very soon we'll have 4 flat tires. Game over!

If I noticed correctly then it appears that the majority of these states (if not all) are solidly liberal/socialist/communist/democrat controlled states. Kind of makes you wonder doesn't it?

I disagree with Illinois being #7. Whoever put this together has his/her head up their ****. Chicago is the most expensive gas in the country. I will bet anyone on this as the truth.
