Did Mitt Romney just blow the election?
Comments caught on video reveal that the GOP candidate thinks half of Americans are losers. This is an utter disaster for his campaign.
You can mark my prediction now: A secret recording from a closed-door Mitt Romney fundraiser, released Monday by David Corn at Mother Jones, has killed Mitt Romney's campaign for president.
On the tape, Romney explains that his electoral strategy involves writing off nearly half the country as unmoveable Obama voters. As Romney explains, 47 percent of Americans "believe that they are victims." He laments: "I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."
So what's the upshot? "My job is not to worry about those people," he says. He also notes, describing President Obama's base, "These are people who pay no income tax. Forty-seven percent of Americans pay no income tax."
This is an utter disaster for Romney.
Romney already has trouble relating to the public and convincing people he cares about them. Now, he's been caught on video saying that nearly half the country consists of hopeless losers.
Romney has been vigorously denying President Obama's claims that his tax plan would raise taxes on the middle class. Now, he's been caught on video suggesting that low- and middle-income Americans are undertaxed.
That one is especially problematic, given the speculation about what's on his unreleased pre-2010 tax returns.
Corn tells us there are more embarrassing moments on segments of the video he hasn't released yet. Romney jokes that he'd be more likely to win the election if he were Hispanic. He makes some awkward comments about whether he was born with a "silver spoon" in his mouth.
But those are survivable. The really disastrous thing is the clip about "victims," and the combination of contempt and pity that Romney shows for anyone who isn't going to vote for him.
Romney is the most opaque presidential nominee since Nixon, and people have been reduced to guessing what his true feelings are. This video provides an answer: He feels that you're a loser. It's not an answer that wins elections.

NIce try!...Another MSN manipulation to try to make up something from NOTHING!...Romney did not blow ANYTHING!...He was just stating simple facts (WHICH ARE TRUE!)...Half the population in America are a BUNCH OF FRICKIN LOSERS!..."THERE!..."I" said it! They need to get there lazy asses out and bang on doors for a job (Like I did)
Romney "NEVER" said they are losers...BUT I DID!
If I had any doubts about voting for Romney, I dont now. FINALLY he framed the major election issue that captures the essence of differences between the candidates. A choice between takers and makers. I only regret he didnt and doesnt take a more right in your face approach with the chronic lying practiced each day by the democrats. Seen Susan Rice, Wasserman Shultz lately-just to name a couple.
The democratic campaign IS largely supported by takers and slackers. That includes all the Washington polticians that have never had a real job, had to hire, train, fire, meet a payroll etc..
I hope the repubs soon enough take off the gloves and be willing to get down and dirty anywhere just short of illegality although the dems seem to have the inside track on making it easy to vote illegally and steal elections.
I believe Romney will win. Many of my democratic friends who have children and granchildren are concerned about their future and have told me they are voting for Romney but not publiclly admitting to it. The same thing that happened in WIsconsin-union members crossed over but wouldnt admit it.
$16 trillion and counting. Obama is rght about one thing-it is simple math.
NOTE: I am an independent and have an equal amount of disdain for Boehner, McConnell and the other spineless members that have stood aside and let our country go down the tubes. Anyone interested should study the rise and fall of the Roman Empire. You will be schocked at the similiarities between their demise and the U.S. Change the names and you wold be hard pressed to not believe it is about the USA, especially the account of how they broke the treasury voting entitlements to stay in office.
Hey everybody, that's the real truth the Mittster said on the tape. That is what he really thinks! Not surprised, he only tells the truth behind closed doors to his rich aristocratic donors. He comes out in front of the American people and "lies". I wish he was Pinochio, wow, what a honker he would have. Good luck Elmer Fudd, and little Eddie Munster, we see what you stand for!!
Obama has to go!!!! And lets face it, food stamps (corrupt), health care (corrupt)... Fake disability claims, fake unemployment claims, dead beats etc etc etc..
Yes some are legit.. but guess what???? Clinton fed off the emotions of the poor and Obama is doing the same. Mean while, the middle class is getting squeezed by LIARS like OBAMA...
At least Romney was honest and he is right.. he won't get their vote so why try? The media just beat him down no matter what he says. The liberal media wants Obama so they do whatever they can to win.. LIBERALS ARE LIARS AND HYPROCRITES!!!!
