Deals to expect on Black Friday

Wondering whether to buy something now or wait for Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, when it might be cheaper?

Partner blog DealNews has your back, with predictions about what deals to expect for Black Friday 2009. Last year's predictions were 82% accurate, notes Dan de Grandpre, CEO and Editor of DealNews.

The predictions are the lowest prices to expect, during the entire "Black Friday Season," mid-November to Cyber Monday. As the season draws closer, you can check for updates to these predictions at DealNews' Black Friday deals section.

Here are some of the 2009 predictions:

• Expect a low-end netbook to hit $129. A more useful netbook will be $199, maybe lower.  Look for a 15-inch or 16-inch laptop to hit $249. Like last year, this year will be dominated by laptop deals, so don't expect any noteworthy desktop deals.
• A Blu-ray disc player will go as low as $49.
• The best "best bang for your buck" in TVs will be a budget 46- to 47-inch 1080p LCD TV for $599. Black Friday is the best time to buy no-name TVs, DealNews notes, but the following weeks are better to buy high-end TVs.
• Black Friday will be a great time to buy large capacity hard drives, with 5 cents per GB the magic number. Expect to find 1TB USB 2.0 external hard drives for $49. And, expect to see a name-brand 24-inch LCD monitor for $145, with even better deals on monitors in December and January.
• This is the year to get a deal on the Nintendo Wii, with a predicted price of  $199 on Black Friday.
• Expect to find hundreds of deals on low-cost computer and technology items, such as wireless routers, PC cases, antivirus software, Secure Digital cards and USB flash drives, for $0 after rebates.
