Friday food deals and freebies

Free fries, BOGO meals and coupons for free drinks among the offerings. Don't forget free entry to national parks.

It’s finally Friday, and it’s time for food deals and freebies.

The Earth Day deals we posted about are still on, including free admission April 17-25 to all national parks that charge an entry fee. This is also the weekend for lots of free local Earth Day events.

Even though April 15 has come and gone, a few of our Tax Day deals are still valid, including free HydroMassage and a BOGO coupon from Boston Market, both good through April 18. And don’t forget that some of last week’s deals are still good.

Remember that not all local restaurants participate in all national promotions, so you might want to call ahead.

Here are the new deals, with thanks to our friends at Cities on the Cheap:

  • Jack in the Box is giving customers a free order of small fries April 16 to introduce the chain's new fries.
  • Jamba Juice is celebrating its 20th birthday with a buy- one-get-one-free coupon, good through April 25.
  • KFC is offering a free medium Pepsi when you order a Double Down with this coupon, good through April 16.
  • Buffalo Wild Wings has coupons on its Facebook page: $5 off a $25 purchase, four boneless wings free when you buy eight, or six traditional wings free when you buy six. The coupons are valid through April 25.
  • Weinerschnitzel has a coupon for a free medium drink with any big 100% Angus beef dog.
  • Quiznos has two new coupons: free chips and a regular fountain drink when you buy a regular or large sub or a regular chopped salad, or $1 off a regular or $2 off a large sub. The coupons are good through April 25.
  • Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes also has new coupons: Through April 21, buy one adult meal and two beverages and get one adult meal free. Weekdays through April 23, buy one adult lunch for $5.99 with the purchase of a drink. Sundays from 9 to 11 a.m. through April 25, buy one adult breakfast and two beverages and get an adult breakfast free.

And, for a deal you can’t eat:

Borders bookstores are throwing a free Fancy Nancy: Poet Extraordinaire event for kids at 11 a.m., April 17, with poetry writing, word games and giveaways. Party attire suggested.
