Friday food deals: pizza and burgers

It’s time to celebrate Friday with a few freebies and food deals.

If you don’t like these choices, Restaurant.com has its $25 gift certificates, good at local restaurants, for $3 each until Nov. 9 with promo code DINE. Be sure to read the fine print before you choose a restaurant because some of the coupons require minimum purchases, are good for dinner only or have other limits.

Remember that not all local restaurants participate in all national promotions. If you have doubts, call ahead.

Here are the latest food deals, courtesy of our friends at Cities on the Cheap:

• Get an Ikea Swedish meatball plate, regularly $4.29, for $1 from Nov. 7-10. The plate includes 10 meatballs, mashed potatoes and cream sauce. The deal’s not valid in Hicksville, N.Y., or in Houston.
• Buy a $20 Chik-fil-A card in November and get a free Chick-fil-A calendar, featuring “Great Works of Cow Literature: The Pen is Mightier than the Spatula.” The calendar also includes about $30 worth of coupons for free food and drinks.
• Dress yourself in orange and get a free Whataburger from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, during Whataburger’s Orange Night out.
• Become a fan of Papa John’s on Facebook and get a free medium cheese pizza. To get the deal, you must make a minimum pizza purchase of $10 and order online by Nov. 9.
• Use these coupons at Quiznos to get $1 off a regular sub or $2 off a large sub. Or, buy a fountain drink and get any two of these items for $5: Toasty Bullet, larger Sammie, small chopped salad, bowl of soup. The printable coupons are good through Nov. 15.
• Sign up for Taco John’s Potato Olés Maniacs email list and get a coupon for a free order of Potato Olés.
• Print out this coupon for $10 off a $20 order at Buca di Beppo. One coupon per table. The coupon is valid through Dec. 31.
• Buy any burger and fries at Denny’s, plus two drinks, and get a second burger free with this coupon. The deal is good through Nov. 23.
• Order any size pizza online from Pizza Hut, with any toppings, and pay just $10. No coupon required.

And, a few deals you can’t eat:

• Go to Sears Portrait Studio and get a free classic montage (normally $29.99) with no sitting fee (normally $14.99) with this coupon. Other coupons at the same site give you 20 percent off your entire purchase and a holiday portrait package for $7.99 (regular price is $9.99).
• Get free admission to selected museums this weekend, and the first weekend of every month, with your Bank of America credit or debit card.
