Leaked Black Friday ads fail to impress

However, some of the pre-Black Friday sales coming up rival bargains available on Black Fridays past.

More retailers are beginning to leak previews of their Black Friday bargains. Today a partial scan of the Sears ad was leaked to deal sites and Lowe's gave a preview of some of its post-turkey day deals on Facebook.

Neither of these was a complete accounting of the bargains these chains will be offering on Black Friday, the traditional holiday shopping kickoff. And neither one had enough bargains to whip most Black Friday shoppers up into a frenzy.

It seems retailers are determined to tease shoppers with little glimpses of what they will be offering 2½ weeks from now, while simultaneously promoting earlier sales.

Indeed, some of these early sales are offering bargains to rival previous Black Friday sales, including Best Buy's Friday-Saturday Sale this weekend that features these deals:

That $100 gift card is one of the bigger bonuses retailers have given out on the purchase of a game console. However, a word of caution: These console models are a couple of years old and new versions of the Wii and then the Xbox aren't all that far away. Post continues below.

The Sears ad that was leaked this morning included a few good deals on clothing, jewelry and small household appliances:

However, the ad didn't include the items that lure most shoppers to Sears, such as tools, washers and dryers, and other big electronics. For now, Sears is holding those deals close to the vest.

Lowe's Facebook page featured more than 30 of its Black Friday specials, including a few decent deals on tools and outdoor equipment such as:

And two more chains -- Best Buy and Kohl's -- jumped on the midnight shopping bandwagon, deciding to open their doors at midnight after Thanksgiving dinner, rather than wait four more hours and possibly lose business to other retailers such as Macy's, Target and Toys R Us, which is opening at 10 p.m. Thursday.

We'll keep you posted on more Black Friday deals as they're leaked. What kind of deals will it take to get you out at midnight?

I stay inside the house on Black Friday...it's not worth the frustration in traffic and danger of being trampled to death just to go shopping.

I sleep in on Black Friday and wait for Cyber Monday. Many times you can find better deals online and free shipping. Plus, don't have to be up at O'God thirty in the morning!

Not impressed.  I look at some deals like the 199.00 laptop and decide that I really don't want to fight 300 people for the 3 they have.  Not worth it to me.  Last year Target, was like a ghost town in the wee hours.

I will wait for Amazon and a few others that offer 6 mos interest free on some of the major things I will buy.  Free shipping, all the better!

I am glad I lead a much simpler life. I only need swim paddles and swim fins as I prepare for my triathlons. Maybe the Ironman will take a $100.00 of the entry fee for one of their events. Now that would be a great savings. Nothing here worth even looking at twice.

Are you ready for Black Friday? Raj from the Big Bang Theory had it correct. Buy a gift for every American on Thanksgiving!... Although, if you want to reduce your partner's stress through the holidays go here. It will be a much better way to spend your holidays with your mate: www.luvbugtoys.com/detail/Category1/IndexIDKS0006/gift-set-earthly-delights-box.htm
