Who's putting wood in your food?
These 10 big restaurant chains and food companies are just some of those that add cellulose to their products. And it may actually be good for you. Let's hope so.

Please get a little education before you post...ALL PLANTS HAVE CELLULOSE!
so if you eat plants then you eat cellulose...our bodies for the most part cannot digest cellulose and thus it is the bulk of what we call fiber. Our bodies are use to dealing with cellulose.
I am not an expert on wood cellulose but unless there is a contaminate that occurs naturally or is added during processing, i can't see any harm in it.
As for "nonorganic fiber" someone mentioned in another post, wood cellulose is organic so i don't know what that could be (are you sure you read it right?)
I would be more concerned about non-natural ingredients, being over weight and/or not exercising enough. And anyone that smokes has no right to complain about anything being added to their food!
It should be The Food and Drug Administration getting sued, they are telling the Taco Bells it is okay.
Thanks for the article as we need to be better informed on the crazy decisions they make on our behalf. They feed cows cement (and we eat the cows) and they feed us wood...
guess the important thing is that all those companies make a buck!!!!
Cellulose isn't just found in wood. It is a basic element of plant cells. Some people, 1 % of all Americans, are violently allergic to the gluten in wheat, barley, and rye and wheat is not fully digested by any humans. I don't hear of the other 99% of the population getting grossed out by the idea of eating wheat. Cellulose is just vegetable matter. If people are getting sick on baked goods, they be better to not self diagnose but find out what they are really reacting to or stop eating plants, period. Several food products are derived from wood and are in food under their chemical names.
Why make the public panic and be afraid by missing half the facts please????? Sometimes--- cellulose is from other plants-- such as bamboo, cotton and corn!-- NOT just wood. I don't appreciate 'half-truths' for the sake of attention. However-- I don't like fast food places because of the poor flavors, fat, salt and general other sugar or carbohydrate (starches) as fillers.. and I will taste and/or eat something with the word 'cellulose' on the label rather than a label stating 'benzoates, sorbates, BHA or BHT'. By the way, cellulose has little or no calories 'cause it's 'roughage'---- and often doesn't taste or have much structure without fat and starch-- so don't you think the problem would be more from the fat and starches??????

I'm going to go eat a piece of lumber.
Thats why I dont eat at many places. And if I do, I order food that cant possible have fillers in them. Like real chicken pieces, or a steak. The only hamburgers I eat are homemade.
Low quality food effects your health more than you realize. Just look at the people around you, and look at those that eat real foods, they are always way healthier looking, and usually slim too.
Processed foods WILL be the death of you! And make your quality of life, very low quality. You are what you eat. Make no mistake!
This is disgusting.
