Just more examples of why the tax code needs to be changed and the progressive income tax eliminated.  Any deduction is just a way to allow politicians an ability to manipulate the law to curry favor with a specific voting block.

Why should any individual US citizen pay more or less for the services that the centralized government provides?

We shouldn't have to give an independent entity any of our money, the IRS is not part of the government. They are hired henchmen to rob us of the fruit of our labor. This country survived 137 years with out an income tax, and if you think about it, early Americans revolted over tax on tea! In order to live without an IRS American's have to decide what the role of government ought to be, if you expect government to care for you from cradle to grave then there will always be an income tax.

It's a free country as long as you pay more than your fair share of taxes.

Everybody knows that the President would never use the IRS as a political arm....just ask him and his lap dog media. It's all a phony scandal.

I can't fathom why we continue to justify this horribly unfair tax system.

The biggest Red Flag is belonging to the Tea Party...   Obama is still using the IRS to go after his political enemies...

If you show dissatisfaction with the president or his administration in a google search, it will cost you money, because the IRS will audit you. Believer of Constitution and Bill Of Rights 71 yr old Viet vet with 10% service disability cost me over $1200. on 2 yr old tax form. Also veterans can no longer get med refills.

Typical lefty liberal philosophy...the more you make the more we hate you and will audit the crap out of you. Liberal democrats just hate success, it destroys their voting base.

Being self employed is a huge tax saver. As long as you keep receipts you can deduct anything used at the office fully. An unscrupulous person might also deduct personal items bought for home use there's really no way for the IRS to know where those computers, light bulbs, toilet paper etc. were used. Also as the article points out you have to prove a vehicle is used for work but really if you have multiple vehicles you can claim a little used one as personal and the heavily used as business. Not condoning this just pointing out loopholes.

The criminal Federal Reserve Act of 1913 born on Jekyll island by the Robber Barons to steal your wealth. The Reagan Grace Commission found that must of the Federal Tax is to pay the interest these private bankers charge the Treasury that is passed on to you.                                        "100% of what is collected is absorbed solely by interest on the Federal Debt ... all
individual income tax revenues are gone before one nickel is spent on the services
taxpayers expect from government."
-Grace Commission report submitted to President Ronald Reagan - January 15, 1984
