VIDEO ON MSN MONEY
Taxes on wages (in any form – flat or progressive) are the greatest evil of our American Republic. When government is free to steal from you, there are no limits to waste and abuse in government. If a person chooses to work extra hours or two jobs in order to better provide for themselves or their family, they should not be penalized, but that is what happens. The more you make by working harder and longer, the more money is stolen from you, and given to those who spend their lives living off the hard work of others.
The revenue the government needs to provide legitimate constitutional services should be obtained primarily from a national sales tax instead of a tax on wages. All would pay based on consumption, the more you spend the more you pay. The more luxury you surround yourself with, the more you pay. Your choice. A national sales tax system would capture money spent by criminals and by illegal aliens who currently pay near zero in taxes. There would of course need to be exemptions: Cars (already have a federal excise tax) Primary Residence/Rental Properties (vacation homes would be subject to tax/rental profit would be taxed) Fresh Food (Preprocessed foods and prepared meals would be taxed – only fresh/fresh frozen/canned goods would be exempt) Insurance Premiums, Health Care & Certified Education.
Adding another layer of tax to a business would not be fair. Businesses would need to be compensated by keeping a portion of the tax to cover the expense of collection and reporting. A percentage of .20 to .05 would be fair.

Time to wake the f--k up America before it's too late.
Holy Sh#% people, after reading these posts, you need to get a grip, on your lives. Things aren't that bad. Just remember two things, and you and your family, will be ok!!
#1.. The government will feed you, house you, protect you, make sure that your health needs are taken care of, and bury you.
#2.. Keep your cell phone bill paid.
See now, things aren't really all that bad, are they??

Muchas gracias, Mr. IRS!
Taxes give us a safety net, when we work hard and due to no fault of our own are laid off. Luckily our healthcare is partially resolved. Not perfect, but a better system than we had previously. If you lose your job, you can get good coverage at a reasonable price. When you are looking for work, it is for two things, money and healthcare. Since my layoff, I bought a Blue Cross Blue shield Silver family plan in Georgia that covers me, my wife, and two daughters. The plan costs only $312 per month and has a $500 individual deductible or $1000 family deductible and only $1000 out of pocket. After we pay $1000, all of our treatment and medications are free. No Co-pay. The Affordable Care Act provided our family more than $12000 in subsidies towards the cost of our Healthcare which brought our monthly premium down to only $312 per month. These type of benefits don't get any better than this. Before you judge the ACA or Obamacare, go out to the site and look at all the plans that each state provides and based on your income, you may receive a subsidy. For two working parents, you may receive a subsidy if your combined income totals $150 to $160k. Do your homework and learn the truth about the benefits from the ACA and do not forget to vote for candidates who are looking out for your best interest, not the interests of the the rich and powerful on wallstreet.
