10 top tech gadgets for the holidays
It's time for tech giants (and potential challengers) to battle for supremacy under the Christmas tree, and a place in consumers' wired-in lives for the year ahead.
You may be right - to each its own. But I still maintain that the acquisition of cyber gadgetry is silly. I am more impressed with things that remain valuable - alithograph by McKnight, a vintage oriental rug, Martin guitar or a Steinway piano. You have to hold your own during the "herstyria" of texting, sexting and twittering garbage. Since I own three splendid film cameras, I am in no mood to shell out money for the digitized nonsense.
This "need vs want" aregument is rediculous. All of you that made it have plenty of things in your life that you don't NEED. Everything from a bed to your car to a house with even an inch more room than you need to move around. Get of your high horse before someone knocks you off it. Your hypocrisy is unbecoming. Hypocrites and pedophiles are at about the same level in my book, a book I read on my ipad, while listening to music on my iphone 5 which I use to take photos of my fossil fuel burning car which I use to take me to places I don't NEED to go but do it because I CAN.
The E-readers they mention in this article are excellent gifts, advancements in technology, and, yes they are excellent ecological choices. One can't count the E-readers in a tree, but one can count the trees in an E-reader. Back to Mom and Dad, who are avid readers; I got the each a basic Kindle E-reader, cause they both need books in larger print, and what they want to read isn't always available in larger print, but the E-readers fix that problem with the adjustable fonts. Additionally, they are easy to carry around, operate, and in most cases, lighter than than the Hardbound NY-Times bestsellers they prefer to read. And I get to bring them up to speed on technology. It's OK to avoid the hassles of modern technology.... if you don't mind sowing with a horse and plow. :-)
