"How could we ever survive without Facebook () or our trusty iPhones?"

Gee, I don't use Facebook nor do I have an iPhone.  How the hell do I manage to survive?

I always ask people what the "Greatest Invention" of all time was...95-99% get it wrong..?

So don't feel bad if you do ?...And I can't make you scroll for three pages to see the answer.

Electricity or the the harnessing of it, production,transmiss​ion,storage,etc...

Without electricity...We would be set back 500 years instantly.

Many of the early inventions, like the wheel,levers,pulleys​,ramps,steps and/or fire..Were discoveries and not really inventions...Natural​ selections, that we put to better use.

Great inventors, like Edison, Bell, Marconi,Tesla and dozens of others.....Gave us a better life.

AT&T and Bell Labs, along with GEs and IBMs and the Medical Science..Changed the World.

Optics (like eye glasses, telesopes and magnifying glasses) make an interesting omission from the list of greatest inventions.

A long time ago....Someone asked someone else, about a building on a hill...

The Answer was, "That is where the dreamers work, and dreams come true."

It was a Bell Labs (AT&T) Operation....And I think it was in New Jersey or upstate New York.

Originally a lot of Computer type stuff came out of BL, like the transistor, fast chips, lasers, lightwave and thousands of other patents.

And there have been other Companies also with Excellent R&D Centers..We have been very fortunate.
