Romney winners and losers
Coal-related stocks would get a boost, while alternative-energy names would likely become short candidates.
You'd get a nice boost in the American Electric Power (AEP)/Southern Company (SO) coal burners, maybe a bit of a bump in the CSX Corporation (CSX)/Norfolk Southern (NSC) coal luggers, and you would most certainly have to short Tesla Motors (TSLA) and lay out some First Solar (FSLR).
But I waffle on this. I waffle because even making the projections on these stocks requires a monster leap of faith, mainly that Romney is going to win, and I think the odds of that are so small that the exercise has a bit of a parlor game feel.
What should have made you sit up and take notice, however, was how Obama fell back on two tried and untrue themes when he got frustrated, none other than oil company breaks and private jets. Wow! That was shades of the January through March 2009 Obama, and you don't even want to look at the charts from that period, lest you don't sleep tonight.
The stock market has done fabulously under Obama, and you can't say that it's despite him, because he could have really crushed the markets if he had kept up with the bashing the banker gangsters, the private jet hooligans and the brigands in the oil patch.
To me, the most alarming note of the night was a return to those themes. We do that, we get a Democratic Congress, then everything's back on the table.
So if you are a bull, you want Obama to read the papers, watch the news, realize he lost the debate and then drop the remnants of that era that somehow surfaced, as if by rote, in the same way he can't stop confusing solar and wind as surface fuel replacements.
You want to set the market back? Bring back the Obama who attacks the corporate interests.
The saving grace? I don't think the voters want it anymore. It doesn't create jobs. It subtracts them.

Wake up America! The media is manipulating you. We can discuss this without the need to insult each other. .Do you think that we might work together regardless of our affiliations and be open to others and analyze the situation neutrally in an attempt to improve our country?
Some democrats feel that republicans are rich. I’m not; I just want to do what’s best for the country, not get handouts from the government. Romney is rich because he had some good breaks, AND he worked for it. There are people who just worked hard and got rich. We are the land of opportunity, not welfare for all.
If Obama cared about the United States of America he’d spend a lot more time in the Whitehouse doing what he is being paid to do; resolve problems and not blame everyone else for his failure.
Working for a living and living on the inflated buck is not easy. Vote for the best one, even if you don't like either one.
A vote for Obama is a vote for Socialism. Let us see what Romney can do.
Give me some of what Ralph is smoking!!!! WOW---Technology is about 10 years away for (Green) cars-----IN the mean time the US NEEDS to get energy INDEPENDENT --this will also help our ecomony back on our feet and keep OUR money here instead of going overseas----All Obummer cares about is to keep pushing his Green agenda--(At tax payers expense)
To put it bluntly---Obummer would sell his wife to a Brothel to get re-elected!!!!!!
"wha happon??" wha happon??
what the libs in the media are asking themselves, their messiah fell flat on his communist face, and why do you think that was????
I'll tell you what happened libs, your boy can't hold a candle to Romney on the issues, it's never gonna happen, that's why david axelrod was changing his Depends undergarments every 5mins from this disaster, his messiah didn't have the crutch he needed and that was the almighty teleprompter, without it, and the words scrollin' down it, it's over for obama, he was floundering and flailing in the water like a stuck goose, let's face it people. obama thought by merely showing up, the issues would fall by the wayside, it was trully pathetic, and I didn't watch the debate, why bother? I passed by a window to a store that had the debate playing and just by looking at Romney and obama the winner was clear, Romney was professional, personable, hard-hittin' presidential as can possibly be, I mean you can put Romney's face on money for God's sake. the issues can never be erased libs, we are living the destructive policies of this illegal, amoral regime and the public has just about had it with politcal correctness, 'aw give the black guy another chance' nonsense, obama can't win on the issues without the media twistin' and turnin' em around, these debates prove one thing, obama is beyond and empty suit, beyond a hoax, he's a complete and utter fictional leftwing loonie creation by the libs in the media, he's nothing more than a cartoon character come to life in the white house, but not for long, just til nov, and a new era begins!!
I guess all the money printing had nothing to do with the stock market inflating or the fact that most of the drop occurred while people ran from the market because they figured Obama was going to be re-elected. The stock market gains mask the overall cost hikes in food and gasoline and merely reflect all of the stimulus that accelerated buying into an election year, a normal occurrence. What do the panics and recessions of 1873, 1893, 1907, 1929, 1937, 1957, 1973, 1981, 2001, and 2009 have in common? They all occurred the year after a presidential election. Cramer is an idiot and he is to be ignored.
I know most Americans looks dumber than dirt to you, but no one needs you coaching them as to how to vote on election day. Perhaps..... if you gave people a little more credit, then your guys could win an election. But talking to me like I don't have enough sense to open the car door at the polling place is NOT going to win you an election. A very valuable piece of advice, and it's free, so take it.
