Still waiting for Kinder to come in?

The smart move could be to just pull the trigger.

Arrow Up © Nicholas Monu iStock Exclusive Getty ImagesKinder Morgan Energy Partners (KMP) is one of those stocks that you keep thinking "when it comes in I will buy it." But it never comes in. Not even when so many of these MLPs are doing secondaries does it sell off and you know they are total birds of a feather.

And if you saw my interview with Rich Kinder on "Mad Money" you would see why. It's because he anticipates demand like no other. He knows where the oil and gas is and recognizes where it has to be. That's why he always has more money-making projects to do, which then allows him to keep raising his distribution which then, of course, drives the stock up, which matters intently to him because he only paid a dollar a share and he has never sold a share!

Kinder's been busy buying the stocks of companies that everyone keeps fretting about because they worry about oil coming down. He bought El Paso and then followed it up immediately with a buy of Copano that hasn't closed yet. He's using Copano to get more lucrative Eagle Ford access because he knows, like Mark Papa from EOG (EOG), that the Eagle Ford is as big as the Bakken, where he had rail lines, or maybe even bigger.

But the two projects that are most exciting for shareholders right now are the Freedom and the Trans Mountain build outs. The former will take cheap oil from the Permian Basin to California, which is starved for domestic crude. The latter could allow Canadian oil to be refined and then sent to California by pipe. Can you imagine how fabulous that would be? New refined product to a state where you can't build a new refinery. It will be a gold mine.

Kinder's the smartest guy in the patch. He has a vision and a killer instinct. He's also now sure that nat gas will be the fuel of the future, which was something he seemed more hesitant about the last times I interviewed him.

Maybe you just have to stop waiting for it to come in and instead just pull the trigger.

Nothing like having a day, when Facebook(FB) is up 1% and GE down about 2.5%...

GE the company that just wants to quit giving....Damn Europe.

Sounds like Cramer has a serious man-crush on this Kinder dude.  Seems like he was singing similar praises several years ago about the CEO of another energy company - Enron.
Apr 22, 2013 9:39AM

Pulled trigger on this, a LONG time ago...Jim.

Not only did you hit the nail, you drove it through the board.....So does Kinder.

Do the HFT computers go away in May too?
Apr 22, 2013 11:01AM

I think HFT trading is what could bring it down in a hurry....Wish they would go away..

About the "only time" I would be in favor of a per share traded, tax fee..

Stocks held less then 48 hours.

Apr 22, 2013 9:56AM

Steagles.....Just start buying small amounts at a time....Ex-dividend date is coming up, will be a drop.

Or we might just have that correction in May..?? ***edited*** both might effect sh. price ?

We started with only about a hundred or so and added over years...Was trying to DCAverage.

Owned both Kinder equities for a period of time, consolidated back to KMP..

There are several good pipeline companies in the MLP/LP world..

Just happen to like this one...And believe they have increased Distribution every year ?

Lots of Re-TOG posts. Could have sworn he was seeking greener pastures at 10,000 posts. The most alarming part is-- as a role model, he is telling stock investors that there is no life after posting all day.
Apr 22, 2013 10:53AM
At 1025 hrs scumbags called to accelerate the selling so we are deteriorating....Want to blame it all on the housing numbers? Go ahead, but not really accurate....They are doing and undoing at will for now....Long way to go still....Crooks never give up, never forget that...More a bit later.
Apr 22, 2013 4:39PM

Counting Sheep.....That was damn funny....His Whole World revolves around a "closed up" Shopping

Mall that he can see from the 2X5 "barred window" in his Ward...heh,heh.

Here's the deal V_L, I don't care who you are, or about your  "net worth."

Kinda thought you might be some 400#  "Fat Chick" in a bathrobe (OMG) living in or around Detroit City, and getting SSI and Foodstamps to feed the beast...?

There's a lot of doom and gloom around about the month of May coming up.

I just went back and printed out my Schwab statement from October 2008.  It was brutal.  Don't wanna see that again.

Someone/Dental...Guess I would have to agree with you....But isn't that TRUE with most stocks ??

Expenditures at KMP are one of the issues, but they have been expanding for years..

I think that is good for any Company, if it adds to the future bottomline?

They don't invest willy-nilly..

Yes I would advise some caution "right now" because of possible May and Summer doldrums..

But we are a long term holder of Kinder and going over some of my books going back a few years,

they have "increased the distribution/dividend" looks like "every quarter" to me.

The stock is at or close to all time, so yes caution and DD is deserved...Maybe a pullback coming.?

They are certainly tied to the "oil patch", but NOT to the price of Oil...Nor other products.

Pull the trigger on this Cramer.  DIE BANK OF AMERICA DIE !
Apr 22, 2013 11:30AM
Why on Earth would you buy ANY stock until all of Bernanke's fiat printed money has gone toxic and bled out of the economy? You THINK you are making good investment decisions but there isn't any tangible substantiation to stock prices today. If they exist in leased office space and primarily do only administrative, paper and button pushing stuff... the have no tangibility. If we let this crap crash, we'll at least have a level playing field to rebuild from. If you don't see them hiring at family sustaining wages and doing anything to offset the import-drop ship crisis, then they won't be here come the New Year.
Apr 22, 2013 10:38AM
Be cautious with this stock. Manipulations have made this costly in the past!
Apr 22, 2013 9:38AM
I'm that guy who wants to but never ends up buying this stock.
Apr 22, 2013 5:06PM

My new goal, might 11,111 posts; Who knows ??

I like ones...They are Aces to me...And I like Aces.

Waterboy, sorry yeah we thought you might be another Can-Can..

You had Evil Chris all excited....He thought maybe too..??

Funny story about your kid/dau...French Canadians and English C. are like Oil and water or black and white, seems much worst back East in Q-prov...Only way I can tell is by accent or dialect.

Reminds me of Cajun Country down in the Bayous..

One thing I've always kind of liked about Canadians...Is they are not quite so "politically correct."

And they speak their At least some i've met.

Apr 22, 2013 4:53PM

But you are somewhat right about posting and I was going to slow down and take a break..

10,000 was kind of a milestone, and I'm not posting near as much...?

ABS was right; I'm a little addicted, but I also get quite busy this time of year with many different things in my retirement, busy, busy, busy..

Plus I come here early a.m. and a couple other sites to check out watchlist, overnight Markets, futures and general info about investing and markets...Been doing it for about 12-13 years..

Years back, I posted under different psuedo, commenting or asking questions on investement articles only...Quit after a couple years or so

Plus sometimes I only hit the comments early or late..

Got my guy LT. Danz, coming and working almost everyday for few hours, except usually weekends.

We are doing more remodel...Other days I go to Casinos or Golf Club...

Yeah there is life after posting or investing and working...It's called "Happy Hour."

VL:   "... you don't know who I am or my worth..."

V_L resides in a state run psychiatric ward in New Jersey and his net worth is about 40 cents. He's the guy sitting in the corner by himself ranting senseless gibberish at anyone who passes by. He has a book about fiat money in 18th century france and a view out the window of an abandoned mall upon which he has built his entire twisted version of reality. This fantasy includes a fictitious version of himself as some mysterious wise person with great wealth who, through his genius, has insulated himself from all the "evil and greed" and "day of reckoning".

Obama once again in a pickle. Dems infighting over keystone. Dem. business and hedge fund donars pushing him to accept Trans Canada's permit apt. enviromentalist donars  pushing to turn down.  Poor guy. Could be interesting with up coming elections. Lots of money going both ways. Polls show vast majority of americans in favor. Does that really matter?  Opponets are betting AK. pipe break wil swing public opinion their way. Hmm wonder if the extreame left would, naww.
