Starbucks pulled into gun debate
The company says business is normal Tuesday even as groups promise action over its gun policies.
A group that aims to reduce gun violence says it is boycotting the coffee giant Tuesday because Starbucks has not stopped customers from bringing guns into stores when the law allows it. Starbucks has the legal right to ban guns, the National Gun Victim's Action Council says. The group has sent an open letter to Starbucks with its complaints.
That boycott didn't sit well with some gun owners, and some said they would visit Starbucks Tuesday to show their support. The gun owners have even created their own "I love guns and coffee" shirts, with an image of a gun-totin' Starbucks mermaid mascot to boot.
Starbucks seems to be trying to stay out of the issue. The company, which complies with local gun-control laws, said that all of its U.S. stores are open Tuesday and business is normal.
"Our long-standing approach to this issue remains unchanged and we abide by the laws that permit open carry in 43 U.S. states," the company said in a statement. "Where these laws don't exist, openly carrying weapons in our stores is prohibited."
Investors were unfazed by the gun debate. Starbucks shares were essentially flat Tuesday, closing at $49.12.

A) They disenfranchise law-abiding citizens.
B) They advertize to violent criminals that they will encounter very little resistance to their violent criminal acts.
I support law-abiding citizens, whether or not they choose to carry a firearm.
I support the second amendment as written. It is truly a national carry permit.
I support businesses who support and abide by the law, such as Starbucks, whose policy is to defer to state law where firearms are concerned.
I feel much safer knowing that there are people around me who are ready, willing and able to come to the defense of the innocent in the face of violent criminal acts.
God bless Starbucks, God bless law-abiding gun owners & God bless America!
It's easily found facts that states that allow a carrying law have lower crimes rates and higher cases of people defending themselves and others. You can count on the police to be everywhere and even they are for the people to carry.
States and countries that limit access to guns show increasing crime rates.

My primary function as an NRA Certified Firearms instructor is the education and protection of the innocent, the ignorant, and the ill informed.
Therefore, since I carry concealed,, along with my other brother and Sister LAW ABIDING CITIZENS, you may never know we are there, but we may be there when you need us most.
The sole reason Japan never invaded the US mainland was due to Admiral Yamamoto convincing the Emperor that there would be a gun behind every blade of grass
Us law abiding gun owners make up the largest army on earth.
and we WILL defend the Constitution of the United States form all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC
Why do I carry a weapon? Because I'm too young to die and too old for a butt whippin'
Criminals and the Insane ignore gun laws. Look no farther than the tragic killings in Norway. Over 100 people killed in a country where firearms ownership is illegal. In the US a felon cannot own a gun, has that stopped any crime. If someone is willing to commit an armed robbery or deadly assult, do you think the gun law violation will stop them? Chicago is a great example. Gun ownership was illegal for 5 decades. Did it stop any violence?
Guns laws are ignored by the criminal and insane elements. They do not stop/prevent crime...
As Danton once said "Man has the rights he can defend"... This is just as true today as 200+ years ago...
I have my Concealed Carry Permit and I carry at all times, I respect all businesses with Anti-gun signs by not shopping there. I tell very few people that I carry, or even when I carry since it is none of their business. About a year ago, I walked into a gas station to buy a soda. As I was shopping, a man with a sawed off shotgun ran into the the building, went to the counter, and wanted the money. There was a Woman with two girls under the age of ten standing about 10 feet from me. One of the girls made a noise and he immediately turned and pointed the shotgun at all three of them. I immediately pulled my GLOCK with every intention of killing him. He saw my movement and saw the barrel of my gun pointed strait at his chest, he then turned and ran out of the convenience store. Later, I learned the he was a felon, meaning that he had illegal possession of a firearm, and he was also part of a gang whose initiation was to go to a convenience store steal the money and kill all the witnesses. Anti-gun people love to focus on the statistics of crimes where a firearm was used, and completely ignore the 2 million crimes a year prevented by Legal Carriers just like me.
